Hah, it's funny y'all decide to take the moral high ground while filling every post with actual insults berating the devs. Of course I'm not talking about any of you specifically, but it's not hard to find any of these comments and nobody is quick to call them out either. The eternal complaining has gotten old already, and people demanding that devs give them an answer, an answer to a question wich there is absolutely no rush (This expansion is coming out in 2021!) to answer anyways.... there's barely any politeness in here, so if my post wasn't either, you know for a fact it wasn't an exception.

One thing I am not sure about - what's up with the guns in every screenshot? Not everything has to be about shooting things. How about exploration, socialising, trade etc?
David Braben likes shooting things. Remember him imagining being a big game hunter on alien planets? Weird.

In the Promo Video they wear Jetpacks. Maybe they Help with walking on higher G worlds.

Not sure if it was this thread, but there was a very brief speculative discussion. Not so much about any hard g threshold, but pertaining to the character animation system, and gameplay, since you'd move quite differently in different gravities, which should affect characters' gait and alternative/augmented means of moving about, and come with tactical considerations. (Also remembering that mass and inertia is still a thing in low g...

Derail, but on this point about the trailer, look at these two images. The first is from the trailer, the planet the Cobra lands on. The second is an image only shown on the overclockers website as part of their fdev competition from June. You can see the planet from the trailer is a potato, probably a small moon with very thin atmosphere. But the planet in the overclockers image looks much larger by comparison, a large planet not a small potato moon, with a much deeper atmosphere.

Any word on if odyssey will support next gen consoles? Will it just be compatible or will it be upgraded?

That's a good question, and while we are at it, one of the tech news streams I subscribe to covered an announcement whereby PS5 will support the use of PS4 controllers on PS5 when running PS4 games, but not on PS5 games as Sony "want the developers to make use of the PS5 controllers special features". I have to admit that as a PC (VR) player I'm not 100% interested in the PS5 so don't know what all the bells and whistles are going to be, but I'm assuming there will be a PS5 native release for Odyssey, so I'd like to know if Frontier are aware of the added features of the new controller and do they have any plans to utilise this functionality?
I really find it hard to imagine that it is not compatible especially with its "new technology".
In addition the new consoles are only improvements of the components as for the PC.
