Elite Dangerous: Odyssey | Update 12 Update Notes

Now I started horizons to leave the settlement. That worked. On the issue tracker I read the suspicion that it is mission related. I will try to approach the settlement again now. with the mission still active.

But thank you all so far for your help. :)

So this is what I tried:

Re-installing nVidia drivers (clean install)
Restart machine
Delete the user's graphics folder
Running the game only, i.e. no 3rd party tools running with it, no browsers, nothing

Still game is glitching. When I try to get to Galmap there's a delay with a fade transition noticeable between game and galmap screens dropping FPS. When I exit the Glide landing on a planet, once Bios appear the game goes down to 5 FPS or less.

This all started since I updated to Update 12. Yesterday I was running the game at 144 FPS, both in space and on planets.

The V4 is already a shipkit for the V3. This will be shipkitception.
If the Type 10 and 9 can have a ship kit, the 2 Kraits, the Chieftain and Challenger... then so can the 2 Vipers.

The Viper 4 is its own vessel and ive been waiting.......... waiting.....

If you are in the mood for troubleshooting, might be worth tying Nvidia driver 512.15 (frrom March) Ive had those stutterinng issues on planet surfaces with all versions after then

Updating the game on steam, it deleted the EDLaunch.exe and now gets a disk write error.

Fixed #1 I restarted my PC and steam downloaded the launcher file. Very frustrating.
Fixed #2 Avast anti-virus quarantined my EDLaunch.exe 2 times. I had to restore and add an exception.

Now I can verify that it has nothing to do with the graphics setting. After deleting the contents of the graphics folder the game still crashed while approaching the settlement. Now I landed 9 km from the settlement and everything is OK. The Mission is still active. Now I will proceed to the settlement via ship close to the surface. Let's see what the results are.

Just tried that version but still the same. Since this issue started with Update 12, there's nothing we can do, but to wait @Paul_Crowther to kindly communicate with his team and fix this issue. The game is currently unplayable unfortunately. o7

as in shut down the game.
open the folder: "%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Graphics"
delete the content of the folder (should be like 5-6 files in there), but not the folder itself

start the game and reset you gfx settings
I totally forgot about this! Thanks! And wow what a difference it made... Or maybe the AMD cache reset too... but I did it all... Amazing visual improvement.

If your issue is like mine, and it sounds like it, it will still crash when you get there, be that in a ship or SRV....

I mean, all joking aside... it should ring more than one bell at FDev when the Crash Report Client stops working (again: I'm NOT talking about the tissue racker). Because it means that an important source for troubleshooting is gone. Worries me, really

I think this time I'll actually open an issue there <shudder>

Woah, that's too much now. I submitted the report, gave as many details as possible and received a positive confirmation at the end. Afterwards, I discovered that I had been logged out. After I logged back in, there was no trace of the report. I am at a loss for words...
this tells more then 1000 bugfixes written in a row and shows more then every update brings to the game. But hey I’m only a doomwhistle guys who has changed from console to pc to see the glory future of elite.

no serious, at the moment it’s going to feels really sad, what’s happens with elite in the last few month.

Noticable improvement to FPS at Conflict Zones on the dark side of a planet for my rig, they were the worst performing areas of the game

pretty much all in the 50fps range with some drops to high 40s when it gets busy, note this is with increased Graphics Quality across the board to what I was using before including shadows and texture quality.

Especially since the T10 is essentially a T9 shipkit, yet still got a shipkit. Meanwhile the T9 is still without one, so are the FAS, FDS, T7, AspS, CMKIV, VMKIV, Iagle, DBS and Hauler. T9 has a raider kit, but I absolutely don't like those.
