Elite Dangerous: Odyssey Update 4

I sold 30 Opinion Polls before Update 4, but Kit Fowler wasn't unlocked.

Will Opinion Polls counts be accepted?

After every new patch I can't help thinking "when will you guys finally admit that Odyssey is still beta, pull it and go back to the drawing board ?"
Why should they do that? What happened happened and can't be undone. Pulling it and reworking everything would wipe thousands of hours of progress of all the players who actually enjoy this ... well... beta.

They admitted that there are issues and they push out huge updates as if there's no tomorrow. They literally do the only thing that's possible at this point.

Well... and you can still play horizons and wait if this doesn't please you.

Something that bugs me since the release of Odyssey. Even with recent iterations on the lighting, these issues still persist.
  • The HUD is really dark. It went from a nice, bright orange in horizons to a dark, de-saturated orange in odyssey. Some parts are hard to read, like the comms panel on the top left. Furthermore, the vibrant light blue of our shields is now a un-saturated turquoise. (I guess it's more of an color issue with the HUD than a brightness issue)
  • Stars are still missing a lot of bloom when seen from a farther distance.
  • Nebulae, even after recent changes, are still hard to see, same applies for the stars in the skybox.
Just to highlight my points a bit more:

I also created a new ticket for these issues. I would really appreciate it if you could acknowledge these issues and pass them onto the devs :)

Thank you very much for your hard work!

Thanks so much for these thoughts. Seriously.
Is this Odyssey shot taken following even today's update?

Thanks!

Try selling one more. If it still doesn't work, that needs to be changed.

I suspect this is still "not retroactive" and that's really something else that needs to change. I don't know what Fdev think on this.

Even more helpful. Really appreciate you nudging these things along. It may already be that this is being used as part of investigations from the guys passing it on but at least I've had a poke on it now too. Thank you.
About the glass reflection performance problem (tested in update 3)
I just want to confirm that it seems related to a shader (disabling one specific shader solves the problem).
It's used in :
  • the screen of the missions consoles
  • the shop windows
  • some settlement windows
  • glasses in the bar
  • some transparent red colored panels in the concourse "guardrails"

The GPU usage climbs the closer you are to the source of the problem (and looking at it).

Disabling that shader solves the fps problem. Side effect is liquids disappear in glasses, some symbols are removed from the shop windows, etc.

About the performance gain, if i'm close to a shop window, GPU usage drops from 100% to 65% (Nvidia GTX 1080).
I can provide more infos and screenshots if needed.
