Are you...inside a jelly station?! I see for sure, something weird. Grabbed it! Thanks for the video!
Do you think someone deleted the source code by accident and Frontier are having to reverse engineer everything? You can't "save" Elite. Only FD can save it.
@sallymorganmoore I am getting plummeting abysmal frame rates getting near a planetary settlement, or leaving it (ie aiming 90 degrees at the sky with no planet visible at all - only sky).
CPU is not busy at all, GPU is 60%, using 6GB ram (I have 8GB), disk io is not occurring that I can tell. Running at 1080 with most stuff on high. Didn't have this issue in update 6 at all.
Repeatable in Asura system, heading towards Ibanez's Burrow. Drops from 60fps to 35 to 3fps (!) and takes 30 seconds (?) to recover.
On leaving the settlement and aiming at the sky, flying upwards into space (before entering super cruise) the same happens. Truly absymal frame rates even though I am looking at the sky - no planetary terrain.
On entering super cruise it appears to "fix" itself after a bit.
Walking around the settlement was smooth but approaching and leaving was utterly horrendous and the worst frame rates I've had in Odyssey, even since initial release.
EDIT: GPU is actually 100%. Same happens if you approach Sanctuary in the same Asura system. Same happens if you walk into the engineer's workshop - stood facing Petra and appalling framerates. Same happens if you then go to Sanctuary's concourse/bar - 3fps but the GPU is only 6% and it's a constant 3fps stood looking at the bar....
Hi Sally, just tried out one of the planets near Beagle Point, noticed the following (no, didn't check all 30 pages if this has been reported so sorry if this was already mentioned):
Floating rocks. No, not actual floating in the air rocks. This was noticed on the SRV scanner.

Note it shows the item is above me. It is actually under me.
Noted something similar on my ship when returning for departure from the surface:

I realize that I'm in a crater but the ship is on the same level as me. There shouldn't be an indicator that it's hovering several meters above me.
Frame rates: Still having an issue watching this number vary from 55 to 35 depending on which way I'm looking. On approach there was a huge amount of visual stuttering. Tried using normal view as well as "heat map" view, no difference - if it's going to stutter, it'll stutter.
Did notice that once I got about 3 or 4 km the frame rate picked back up.

Love the textures. Would love the frame-rate number shown in this last image to show up on the ground. Even if it's never going to be possible, 50-55 fps would be a serious improvement. And I'm not going to get to see the inside of a station for another few months. BTW, the station I'm heading to is Jaques Station. It would be nice to see him tending bar (hint hint).
Thanks for all your help with this, Sally! We appreciate you being here and putting up with us. I know we can be … trying at times.
I, myself, have had to herd cats once in a while.

@sallymorganmoore
Walking on stations for shopping breaks fps in space AGAIN. As it was in patch 4. Like 120-180 fps down to 20-30.
Game complete reload fixes.
P.S. I feel like talk-to-NPC breaks fps, but not sure for sure
EDIT: Just docked POISSON ORBITAL into KAPPA system. Used market - sell/buy - undock. Broken FPS. Didn't go to walk.
LOL, no. That would be terrible.
Allegedly that is what happened with one game that i bought. It was EA and didn't play it much. Then devs said they had lost (some of?) the source code and rereleased it after some time as free but without multiplayer or something. No idea if this was a load of tosh from the devs and they were covering up that they couldn't deliver on the multiplayer part.
Em...I play on linux...Latest nvidia driver, just updated tonight, proton experimental latest steam version, 2060 nvidia, cpu:Would you mind DMing me your DxDiag please?
More like 8-13% game size. I think people forget just how big Odyssey is.every time you force folks full game size updates

If only you thought about at least adding a few ships (in a space ship I wouldn't be stupid that). Or give us 5000 Arx every time you force folks full game size updates. all 24 hours before the break on Thursday instead of doing it at the same time.
Two sets of eyes MB : Have one of these CPU: yup got one of these too RAM: Downloaded some extra ram to get an extra frame in EDO GPU: Sold mine and bought a boat. SSD : I use an abacus to store my data HDD: Too rich for my blood Keyboard: Amazon basics best of gear Mouse: Cat decapitated one on my front door the other day Monitor: No my tag was taken off so no longer a danger to the community Full Tower: Never seen that movie Dark Tower film was pants CPU cooler: Im no stranger to blowing on things to keep them cold and fridged Win 95
I can confirm that i also still have the shadows flickering in the hangar shown in that video also with update 7. I'm docked at Exphiay, Worlidge HubAre you...inside a jelly station?! I see for sure, something weird. Grabbed it! Thanks for the video!
iirc EDO is about 60GB, if you want full game size updates plat COD warzone 60-70GB updates were common after launch. If only you thought about at least adding a few ships (in a space ship I wouldn't be stupid that). Or give us 5000 Arx every time you force folks full game size updates. all 24 hours before the break on Thursday instead of doing it at the same time.
Hmmm...so as many many many of us are aware right now, there's something a little funky going on with weapons. I'll take a closer look at this and see. Thanks.
It seems at this point that the whole Odyssey DLC was not intendedI certainly hope the nerf to Plasma blueprints was not intended. It completely destroys the meaning of some engineering modifications, and overall makes plasma as a whole less appealing than ever.
