The activity you're asking to be nerfed is one of the most fun and engaging I've done in a while. I failed miserably the first 3 times I tried it but then I started to get the hang of it and I'm really thankful to the cmdr that published the video. And here you come and ask for it to be nerfed, because, why not, it's "Nerf week". It's not an exploit, it requires some skill in FA off (which I never had but I'm managing) and the visuals (and explosions) are great. The whole experience is great. But, yes, let's nerf this, too, why should this game be fun?
Did you close the AX CZ on your own (solo) ?
 
your are assuming people play powerplay ONLY for their ranks.
personally, i see powerplay like a race between various community.
if killing one ship give me 100 merit, i take 100 point, and the enemy should kill one ship too to have 100 point, so the "race" is 100 vs 100, but, if that ship gave me 10 merit, and to my enemy also 10 merit, the race is 10vs10 that is the same of 100 vs 100 or 1000 vs 1000, the only affected thing is our rank.

so people are complaining about the fact they want rank 100 asap or the fact they want a balanced powerplay experience? should they need the weapon or want they power to expand as better one? that make difference.
Because there are modules locked behind it.

Lets be honest thats the main reason for many people wanting to farm it. They don't give a damn about the race between the powers, they want the stuff to build their ships properly. (see; Prismatic shields)

The need to grind like hell to even have a hope of unlocking these modules are a good portion of why the community will look for the fastest way of getting there.
Not the only reason, granted, some do just want a leg-up on other factions and rares/data exploit do need rebalancing to stop negative effects in systems.

Turning them off in lew of a fix being rolled out is fair enough. Though i would hope they consider other issues with the system before that. Such as the abysmal payout on enemy vessels bar fighters and how hard it actually is to finish ship builds in this current iteration.

I think whichever room we are lodged in at 'Hotel California' we pretty much all agree that modules should have been removed from power play.

@Darrack: You are right there are other thing to do. Ive only logged 4000hrs in the game and I'm not in you league. On the other hand when you announce a section of the game is for everyone and it isn't then it isn't for everyone. why should anyone playing this game settle for less?
 
I'm surprised at the number of people upset that two exploits and one grossly imbalanced activity all got shut down temporarily.

I probably shouldn't be surprised though.

PP 2.0 promised to get us out of PMF's business and a variety of ways to earn merits. I'm still here for that, I'd love to see that. I don't care about the PP modules, just make them purchasable with mats for everyone at PP HQs and let the power players play and free everyone else do what they enjoy.
 
what refunds? Last I checked I am not eligible for a refund just because I don't enjoy a game anymore after 10, 50, 100, or 1000 hours. This is getting silly.
Most people who pay money expecting it to function to a satisfactory level are not so forgiving. Again, it's their escapism from your horrible world scenario, they paid for it, they expect it to work.
 
Just out of curiosity…what powerplay rank are people on that are commenting on this thread :)
15, I think? Mid-tens, anyway.

I have only one question, why today and not after the Cycle-tick?
If they're intending to also rollback system progress resulting from the things they shut down that's a lot easier to do before systems actually change hands at the end of the cycle.

(And maybe also they're hoping to be able to get a fix out tomorrow and be able to restore non-exploit uses of these options before the cycle ends)
