Looks like a cross between an Anaconda and a Federal Corvette. Definitely looks more battleship to me than tanker.

I guess it won't have the extremely lightweight hull that made the Anaconda so good in the first place and is probably more likely to make the Corvette obsolete.

This would be a great time to slide in Prison Cell Passenger Cabins ... just saying!

We also need more NPCs on concourses - on both sides of the law

Visibly so - with their own skins and animations. Not just shouting out "Hey wanna earn some credits?" or falling asleep.

It was all going so well until I read this and was jerked into the realm of Disney and really bad corporate/political new speak.

When the team first started to ideate on this feature, a key goal was building upon and better connecting the existing crime and punishment systems. Law & Disorder provided an opportunity to revisit them and create a more connected, engaging and intuitive experience for players.

Pretty much made me skip straight to the Anaconda 2 section.

When they mentioned the Cobra 5 I did wonder if the new Annie was going to get a window in the bridge floor.

Meanwhile PvP and PvE interactions will have different systems, weighing your actions and considering the visibility which they have. Take out the sole remaining occupant of a settlement, and your crimes will remain unreported and your identity unknown. Commit repeated visible crimes in the same ship and face the prospect of increased attention from authorities. Unless you can find a broker willing to make you disappear again... PvP crimes will now fall under the jurisdiction of the Pilot's Federation and be handled separately, which is something we'll explore next month.

This part is certainly interesting and seems more in line with how things were in FE2, which is a good thing. I've wanted the panopticon gone for a while now.

I just hope the system with regards to pvp crimes doesn't go too heavy handed and start imposing some of the outright nonsensical suggestions people have come out with here and on the subreddit to "punish gankers". (like if if people are in a literal warzone, I really hope you don't expect people to limit themselves to the CZs)

Very interesting.
- looking at crime as an activity that players are "supposed" to do
- possibly getting back to the "minor crimes have lesser consequences" approach of the original
- not trying to handle PvE criminality and inter-player aggression with the same system
All sounds like steps in the right direction, and definitely curious as to where this one will go.

The trickiest thing will be getting the "adaptation period" right.
- not making knee-jerk changes in week 1 because players try to treat it like they would have the old system and fall over that
- also setting aside time in a few months to assess how it's going once people have adapted to it and the real issues are clearer

I guess it won't have the extremely lightweight hull that made the Anaconda so good in the first place
Somewhat heavier hull but a class 7 FSD, perhaps? The ARX ships as a whole have tended one way or another to have good jump ranges for their size class - though the Caspian does already fill the "large and jumps a long way" role at a similar payload to the Anaconda, so there is perhaps less need for the Anaconda II to also be that fast in hyperspace.

A more nuanced approach at Crime and Punishment? No death penalty if I grab a bottle of PVA glue or a pat on the shoulder if I destroy a Beluga at full load?
I'm all for it!🥳

I find the Anaconda and the Corvette the 2nd and 3rd ugliest ships in the game (nothing beats the FdL for me). I'm curious to see if the Anacorvette will subvert my personal rankings. 🤭
