Elite Dangerous | System Colonisation Beta Details & Feedback

Same thing happened to me, but with two installations. The construction ships are still in the system, but the installations have vanished, they awarded no construction points, they don't show up neither as contacts nor on the system map. (Their orbital slots are no longer free though.) I took screenshots of the second one's process, filed a support ticket, and now we'll see if they'll appear after the Thursday tick.

i just humped materials to finally finish my 1st real station (classic coralis) and it and the installation rig have vanished and soon as last ton on steel dropped off. Is this normal? I tried jumping out of the system / re-booting elite and no difference. Any suggestions?

Same problem here... Instalation finished and doesn't exist in the system.

very annoying but thanks. oddly i can find the constuction site on screen 1 of the ship controls but no station. hopefully tomorrow will appear

1) Has anyone built a T2 Medical installation? The commodities list shows Aluminum (1357), but when I actually got to the construction site if didn't require any Aluminum. I Finished it and it said complete.

2) It and the construction site has disappeared from the system map. The construction site is actually there however if you look in left panel and can land on it. There is no installation next to it like usual though.

Same story. I just finished 2 military settlements, one after another, neither did appear, and their construction sites are still there, and it shows 100% in the sys map.

Perhaps Fdev have capped the maximum amount of assets to be build in a certain time slot and they are queued to appear later on?

Just wanted to quickly check if anyone had the same issue:
I build a surface mining settlement, completed it, got the Brewer note, left the station, came back, no station at all.
I assumed it would be similar like the space stuff, jumped all carriers out of the system, left, came back, no avail.
Still only the construction site. It lets me land, but cannot drop any stuff anymore.
I have opened a ticket. but may be someone has an easy workaround?

thx
Just wanted to confirm that mine appeared now.
Probably just a lag / delay.

Feedback actually on resource balancing:

I was looking at the market in my asteroid base and was wondering why some of these resources are not used in station construction, then I had the idea maybe you could make some resources used a choice of this or that. By that I mean loads of steal like it is now or less of something more rare and once you start suppling a resource you cannot change back to the other resource.

I thought this might make the building process more interesting and reduce the amount of hauling, without necessarily slowing down construction times, though that would be dependant on how the resources need to acquired.

Greetings Commanders,

With the launch of our Trailblazers update we will be bringing System Colonisation to Elite Dangerous! The launch of System Colonisation will be as a live Beta for the feature, allowing us to review data and make adjustments over time. This is a significant update to Elite Dangerous and whilst we are very happy with the feature we do understand that some fine tuning may be required initially.

Though this is a Beta it will be on the live version of the game and any actions/progress made will NOT be wiped unless a significant issue is identified. Here is a brief explanation of how the Beta works:

✅ What the System Colonisation Beta is
  • Feature complete
  • All actions/resource payments made are final and will not be refunded
  • A period where we can monitor data and make balancing adjustments

❌ What the System Colonisation Beta is not
  • A work in progress
  • There will be no progress wipes
  • There will be no resource refunds

The aim of the Beta is to gather data and feedback specifically focused on resource balancing. We are happy with the System Colonisation feature itself and whilst we are always happy for you to share your feedback the aim of this Beta is aimed firmly at resource balancing and not changes to the feature itself.

To help us in our balancing we will be using this thread for you to share your feedback on the following areas:
  • Amount of resources required
  • Amount of time/distance taken to complete tasks
As always you are welcome to share additional feedback on the forums or to raise an issues you encounter on our Issue Tracker.
Hi, why are the building costs of my primary port coriolis station are now 50% higher than in it is documented? If I would know this I would NEVER build it as the first station. Not only that the Coriolis station was placed in the worst spot of the system now the cost to finish it feels like doubled. In the description when you select the Coriolis Station the values are still lower like the been before. How can you just increase the required material without the possibility to cancel the installation and replace it with an outpost? Like this solo players will not build anything bigger than outposts. Why do did you not document the changes and increased the max building time by 50% too, since I do not want to do 100 hours of hauling in that short amout of time.

I would like to hear your opinions on the events that have occurred here, if that's okay.
Several CMDRs including myself have been struggling for a long time to submit a System Colonisation application for the system “Wredguia SX-L d7-92”.
This system has already been submitted for development by another CMDR.
At this time, it is not possible to submit an application for development from any star system other than “Wredguia FO-Q b32-0”, which I pioneered.

However, as a result, as shown in the image, the results have been intercepted by other CMDRs. I tried to operate as quickly as possible, but due to a temporary lag, I was not able to dock at the station.
This event is a travesty of the efforts of the CMDRs who carried a large amount of cargo, and we are sad to report it to our friends who have helped us.

For example, if we do not do something such as limiting the re-application for development from a developed star system to the CMDRs who pioneered that system or their friends for a certain period of time, we will lose the point of doing something with everyone's efforts.

The fact is that our efforts have been trampled on and our achievements have been side-stepped, and as a result, we feel not a little resentment.

What do you all think about the specifications that allow this side-taking?
Currently, the means to delegate the right to develop the system has not yet been implemented, and we have heard that they have been agitating and ranting in chat because they have no means to take back the system.
FDev currently allows the act of shooting down clean ships as RP, and the BGS also incorporates a system of taking and being taken in star system battles.
The system stealer believes that the fundamental problem with this system steal is that it only implements taking. The thief CMDRs may feel safe and agitated about this. But as mentioned above, it is only when the new version implements the fact that it will be hard work for those without power to keep it there that it will be consistent, FDev?
If Elite:Dangerous is a game where you are made to realise that the responsibility for your actions will eventually come back to you, wouldn't it be a development of BGS to implement this in the future, even if it is currently impossible?

Primary ports cost more than secondary ports. You appear to be comparing the primary cost to the secondary cost. If you don't want to finish a primary coriolis just go to the colonisation contact and abandon the claim and restart with an outpost. If it's a secondary then you're stuck with it forever

About 12 hours ago I completed a commercial orbital outpost. It is now online. It raised my population by 5000. My journal shows it as an Industrial economy, 1.15. On the moon's surface that it orbits, I have 2 agricultural settlements, T1 M Picumnus (L). They are not online yet, although they were completed a couple of days ago. I believe they will be after the tick here shortly, since it's Thursday. The outpost lists as a colony in DaftColony spreadsheet. Not sure what's going on here, and I'm not looking into it too hard with all the other 'oddities' that are present in the game at this moment. It does produce quite a lot of goods though. It demands even more. I was hoping for this to be my agricultural economy, but I'll take whatever it becomes as long as it works.

What kind of moon is it? Ice, rocky, HMC?
Also, do you have anything else in the system that is Industrial?
I think the FDev are starting to tweak the economies based on the body type.

I posted a lot of specs in the 'What do these numbers mean' forum. I'll repost them here.
This is the moon:

The planet is a class II gas giant.

This outpost is orbiting the moon that has the 2 ag settlements (not active yet). The only other construction in the system is a coriolis that is 4 or so planets away. It is still a colony economy as I have no planet slots. There is one orbit slot with the same moon as the coriolis, but I'm not building anything there until we know more.

The Station appeared thankfully about 3 hours after construction. The scaffolding is still there. For some reason its got a tourist economy associated with it. I guess its because it orbiting a water world?

I was told the world type for WWs and Earthlikes has no effect whatsoever on the stations orbiting them.
