Elite Dangerous | Update 13 Notes

Sorry, it's right that my earlier replies will ultimately get lost in the ongoing conversation here but I have got AA as something to discuss in terms of any news for you once past the initial buzz of the release :)
Hey Sally!
Update notes mention "scenarios" and "features" related to the conclusion of the Azimuth Saga. Could you please clarify, what scenarios and features are these exactly? The cutscene was great, and basically confirmed that motherships are a thing and they are coming, but I find it hard to believe that the whole conclusion until Update 14 is a 3 min video. Thank you for your reply!

more players drawn to AX..
Yeah but hard pass from the likes of me, unless there are built in exploration / exobiology mechanics involving ethical, scientific study of the only other known, extant sentient life in the galaxy. And, just as importantly, ways to actively oppose ongoing human aggression in-game, and pursue communication, peace and reconciliation with Thargoids, beyond just token BGS tactics. A 'PX' path, if you will lol ✌️

Prepare for The Seedship varient..

I wonder if
the newly discovered green glowing relics
have something to do with the new scenarios and features. Smells a bit like asset re-use, but at least it is something.

Where did that happen? The big Thargoid belch at the end of the cut scene? Don't you think you might be reading too much into that?
basically the base for "you've promissed thargoid megaships and didnt deliver!!" out of a single sound on a cutscene
clássic
I dont, dataminers found codes for Thargoid Seedships, Titans, and a sound which was very similar to the thing we heard at the end of the video. These are in the code of Odyssey.
the panther clipper is a thing for the past 4 years so i wouldn't get too excited out of a sound, i would keep my expectations within a plausible range

It's not, you're right.
Many players in game are experiencing the scenarios right now (it's so fun to keep track of!!).
I'm very wary of including them specifically in update notes as they would include narrative spoilers. Hope this makes sense.

Sure, and they also found code for the Panther Clipper about five years ago, and a bunch of function names which if you squint at them funny prove that base building is already implemented in Odyssey.

Residual assets and functions for something that was unfinished and abandoned can't really be told apart from something that's there and ready to go by that sort of "datamining".

Was this fixed? Like nails on a chalkboard to me. Flying in space but can't see any planets.
Again, another one I answered back on earlier in this monster thread but will help by bringing it forward again because goodness knows how you will all keep track :)
I added this one to query to the list I'm forging following the release.
It won't be an immediate address with info but I have it o7

If it's of any help for the team in cracking down on the AA issue...I've been dealing with similar anti-aliasing issues in American Truck Simulator, and based on widespread advice I found, I followed the instructions at this link here - https://roextended.ro/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1000 - which, in a nutshell, appears to use NVidia Profile Inspector to force SGSSAA on. And the results are amazing, vastly superior to any combination of the ingame ATS AA settings or Nvidia Control Panel settings, without the performance hit of 4x supersampling (though there is still a hit).

New conflict zone panel added to the top right info panel in the cockpit, for the purpose of anti-Xeno conflict zones.

So i guess the superweapon won't exactly work as intended?
The fact that the recent CG completion reward was an pre-engineeredd Anti-Xeno weapon suggests that the Super weapon wont be entirely successful.

So not of any use for anyone but Nvidia GPU owners, or have they made the function Open Source for all?

Just to clarify, are you saying that you also used these settings in Elite and it worked well, or just that it worked well in ATS?
edit: I didn't fully process "ingame ATS AA settings" lol

What's the "Azimuth Saga"?

  • Scenarios and features added to reflect the finale of the Azimuth Saga in game.
    • Nothing further to add on these other than...well, see for yourself. The time is almost upon us!
What means this? We know what we added, but we're not going to tell you, or we didn't add anything?
The 'Azimuth Saga' is the story Arc with Salvation and the super weapon which is heading towards a crescendo today. They aren't going to say what they added - they want players to discover it all in game.

Just to be clear...are -any- of those scenarios accessible in Horizons? Or is Horizons limited to debris fields and destroyed megaships with some materials floating around them?
