Elite Dangerous | Update 13 Notes

If we are having QOL improving buttons to push, I'd like it if FDev could make Ody outfitting look and work like Horizons outfitting.

I think he's talking about the button that has always been there...

Edit: Ah no - summary button on the left.
Yup. Just found one old screenshot - it was definitely not there.

Seeing an odd issue since the update. Taking on solo passengers at I Sola Prospect, illegal warning comes on even though they're not illegal. This has happened twice now. Anyone else seen this issue?

HIP 22460 has put Dangerous back in Elite. Great job! Looking forward to see where this goes.

The Thargoids even attack when you park on a planet surface. At least when you try to sneak out...

Yeah, i tried to park myself on 10a before logging back out (so i could sty in system and investigate more later yesterday), but a tharg found me and 'sploded me right up as soon as i parked. Not complaining, thts life in a sidewinder.

A shame i ended up back in Qarato so like...13 jumps or something back if i wanna go there.

I foresee a humungous new grind, replacing any and all guardian tech (FSD Boosters, Shield Boosters++) with a new grindfest of human equivalent tech.

oh joy.
I'm cringing already at the thought of new tech grinds coming.
Please surprise us with a credit sink approach to outfitting new tech & weapons, for a change!

A credit sink would definitly be a good idea, could be in the form of pouring credit at some tech research company so they can come up later with powerful AX human tech (so a CG goal, with credit)
Another good side effect is that if you make players run low on credit, the galaxy becomes more dangerous again (rebuys), fuel all other activities, and make it more difficult to upgrade to new bigger ships (which are for the time being ridiculously low priced given how money is cheap)

I don't... Funny how the same thing can be perceived by different players.
Players do grind voluntarily, don't they?

(It appears that only Weapons, Guardian PP, Distro and FSD booster are affected. The HRP/MRP/Shield boooster doesn't seem to be affected, according to one of my squadron)
Grinding "voluntarily" is relative. You need/want the good equipment, so you have to grind to get it. Yes, you could not do the grind, but then you don't get the good stuff you need to participate in the content (AX combat in this case). Technically, you don't have to do that either, but if you want to engage with that part of the game then you need to have the tools to do it, and therefore need to grind in order to get those tools.

So is it really "voluntary"?

What happened to the people that had a Guardian Powerplant that woke up in HIP 22460? Were they all just destroyed by Thargoids as the ship wasnt working?

Surely... Grind implies doing something undesirable just for a rapid reward?
Yes, you could not do the grind, but then you don't get the good stuff you need to participate in the content (AX combat in this case).
As AX combat is unlikely to go away for the forseeable future (on PC 4.0 anyway) I can take my own sweet time doing stuff, rather than get bored to tears doing the same stuff repetitively in order to get it "now"

I suppose, to some, doing anything in the game is considered grind...
So is it really "voluntary"?
Of course it is, nobody will force you!

People perpetuating this myth that "ED/EDO grind is completely voluntary, you just play the game silly billy, and everything just falls into ur pocketses" make my eyes roll hard enough to work as a shipboard gravity generator.

Technically majority of grind is just playing damn game. But you have to try (on certain level) try all possible gameloops, instead sitting for months in planetary rings, and after it moan, that you haveng guardian blueprint.

But people with their broken minds will min/max everything, and sit in 1 meta place to farm everything to 150/150 in 1 session.
