Elite Dangerous: Vanguards - Arriving 19th August

Releasing patches on Tuesdays is the accepted best practice in the software industry. Finish the release version on Friday; do last checkups and final preparations on Monday when everyone's fresh; rollout on Tuesday and you have 3 days left before weekend to put out potential brushfires.
Oh, i never knew about this tradition (if you can call it that). That actually makes sense for me now, thank you!

It's probably also the case that if Frontier had perfect foresight, the weekly server reset would take place on Tuesdays as well - but that needed to be regularised long before Frontier moved to having large enough gaps between patches that fixing a day of the week could work (the 1.x releases were all over the place and sometimes more frequent than weekly) and it'd be really inconvenient to move now.

Also it means we software engineers can do Mean Streets jokes a lot.

is this sarcasm or do you really not know how the Battlestar Galactica ships look? I must be getting old.

Edit to add: This seems to be some kind of game iteration or something, or some kind of clone, but the design is kind of iconic and easily recognizable.
We may be old enough for either the original battlestar AND the remake that the picture comes from to not be recognized by the younger public.

With super carrier now being out you really need to look at the cost of personal carrier, both in terms of purchase cost and upkeep costs as are they really worth the invest they once had at launch?

I remember I spent ages trying to rebuild the Galactica with my random Lego bricks. That was WAY before you had special bricks and dedicated kits for stuff like that.

Of course I failed. But the design is probably lasered into the brains of many a seventies kid. Those were the days.

That will depend on how many times more expensive a Squadron Carrier is after all there will be a whole squadron funding it.

I used to try todo that with egg cartons. Yes, young folks, we used to play with egg cartons.
