Elite Dangerous: Vanguards - Arriving 19th August

is this sarcasm or do you really not know how the Battlestar Galactica looks? I must be getting old.

Edit to add: This seems to be some kind of game iteration or something, or some kind of clone, but the design is kind of iconic and easily recognizable.

I haven't watched BSG sorry. So it's the Mercury class, 1849 m long, 735 m wide, 331 m tall.

There is also a slight chance that the stuff you discarded has actual purpose and isn't just greeblies. Like expanded concourse or something.
I think we wouldn't even be able to make out an expanded concourse in that screenshot. Those structures are HUGE. Saying they are as big as building blocks would be an understatement.

True, the epic scale is awesome.

So another ' ship ' i won't bother with , meanwhile out in the VAST galaxy......NOTHING happens.

Lots of new colonies are being built and the Thargoids are out there. :geek:

Any theory crafting as to what will be inside?

I want to be able to walk inside the ship and feel how big it is... I want to walk along a line of ships ready to deploy.

Need a bigger carrier to park all them panther clippers
The FC can hold 40 Panther Clippers per user parked there, no?

I was once temporarily a member of a squadron, but the "missions" and goals were very vague and mostly managed in vague ways in Discord, so I didn't really do much and eventually just left.

If this update allows squadron owners to make clear in-game lists of tasks (similar to PP2) and shows other in-game info and statistics, it will be a huge improvement, and I'm looking forward to joining some interesting squadron and participate.

The same as a regular carrier probably? The vanguard additions are in the new menus and UI screens I would think.

i mean they could have changed the layout inside, but replicating the exact same thing, so ... I'm not sure why it would change.

Some non symmetrical scaffolding/thingies on the other side

I see that as a sort of sensor array at the nose, and the landing pad extensions however they are called on top.
The angle just makes them visible, or rather invisible at the other side.

From the looks, it looks beefy and I want haz one.

But let's see the stats first. No need to make my grind worse

Edit says I have some hopes the open, windowed structures on the superstructure are walkable squadron hubs.
