hehe its good this running.. I am not yet running the full 5k but the times are tumbling down..

Today I had some signs from the legs not to walk tonight, and I intend to listen... and HAMMER that course tomorrow night..

SO weights tonight and get these muscles in my upper body... burning.

Back to sensible weight loss but still happy: 1 kg loss this week!

Trousers are feeling a bit loose too, have lost an inch round the waist.

Walking on going... in total missed 2 nights walks since December and 1 half walk.

Always a good thing to listen to your body. I didn't and cost myself three months out (knee injury). It's especially important to listen to your body when you're 'in the zone', as that's the time you're more likely to want to push on and reach your target.

Blood pressure vs Heart rate

Discovered something interesting today.

Ran out of my high blood pressure pills a few weeks ago (Christmas and all)

I wasn't worried because since giving up s my heart rate is much lower.

Apparently you can have a low heart rate AND high BP and vichy versi :eek:

Well I am a little let down this week... No Loss No Gains...

BAH!!! So I guess something must be going on... another little poopy week.

Well just gotta keep at it..

I think you will find that that happens. Don't forget that you will be creating muscle and that this weighs 3 times more than fat, so it offsets against the fast loss. Also, your weight fluctuates, so it is probably just one of those things which you can't do anything about.

Keep it up, you will probably get a good weigh in next week!

Remember weight fluctuates wildly depending up time of day etc - as opposed to vegetarians who flatulate wildly.

Also, muscle weighs more than fat.

Don't just use weight as a measurement, your times, your waist, your heart rate and generally how you feel should give you a more holistic measurement.

You are doing great - in fact you have prompted me to go out for a 5k run right now.

Focus on the important bit - no gains. Your body will naturally plateau at times, even if you stick at it. You're doing great :)

Just to echo what's been said above - even if the weight appears to have stalled if you just keep your routine up you will be making progress.

The main thing is not to backslide and get in a negative loop..

Well it was sunny but cold and a bit breezy on the seafront but as I normally run 10k and I did 5k, I want a bit faster and broke 3 of my PBs

1 km 04:40 -> 04:24
1 mi 07:37 -> 07:16
5 km 24:39 -> 24:08

My calves are not thanking me for it though. Lots of stretching now.

Wow.... Im pb of 7mins for 1k... still got a long way to go.. :D

thanks for that though..

Psykokow PBs

1 km 06:55

5 km 43:57

I think it could be fun to share our pb's

I started a year ago so have a head start. You will see those times tumble when you do more running than walking but make small targets, say 06:50 and 43:30 to start with.

My PB for 10 km is 50:05 which I did a couple of weeks ago blowing over 2 minutes off the previous. I have a 10k race in 3 weeks where I might get close to it but struggling since to keep that pace up.

I am entering a half-marathon as well in March, never run that far before and it is off-road too. Will be raising money for a charity of which I am on the committee.

This is exactly where I'm aiming, to turn it into a positive change not just for me and my health but funding local charities too

But it seems a world away
