You might think that, I couldn't possibly comment. :D

The banhammers having the dents removed at the moment,

I've not been to the gym for over a year, and it shows. It's not too bad if you've got music to listen to but can be very dull at times. I'll have to go through the pain barrier and start up again soon.

And oss get some of your pice in the photography thread then. :D

Give me one good reason why you can't do some exercise this weekend. :)

I plan to but I am away all week, working. I get home on a Friday at 9:30 pm at the earliest and leave again by 2:00 pm on Sunday. I should get some of my favourites in there on Saturday.

Apart from I'm lazy?

No you're right after I've done the usual houswork, feeding kids and being the Dad taxi I'm normally too knackered.

I'm not in too bad shape really I just need to lose a few punds and put some muscle back. My knees are ruined thanks to football (arthritis) so impact is a no-no but cycling is the perfect alternatice to but a bit of muscle mass around my knees to take some pressure off the joints. I've got a Specialized Stumpjumper which is nice bike setup for the road at the moment so their is not too much of an excuse.

I love the gym! but agree you need to keep things fresh and change your routines once in awhile so it dosnt get stale.

I like the treadmill been using for quite a few years now and i reallly mess around with it, ie use inclines, slow down, start fast or just push myself on that last stretch goal that i set myself.....but must have music! its what pumps me up...Justin Bieber really gets it on for me! :p....Na some good rock/trance dance stuff the best.

Rower i use to hate, but it really works your arms as well as legs and since i set targets and am alot fitter and is more fun.

I do weights to, and with the cardio i can spend up to almost two hours excersing, but its fun to me and a great buzz after, luckily i have weird shifts so helps.

BUT and a big BUT i love cakes/chocs had a little blip this week and finished off a box of the little blighters!

but been to gym three/four times a week and roughly 1100 calories lost per session, so will be happy come sunday weigh in if i break even.............there may be beer later to!...hell you got live to ;)

Used to do the same on the treadmill when I went to the gym - the rower certainly made me appreciate the awesome level of sustained effort Steve Redgrave put himself through for 4 Olympics in a row...

Just found the track list for my old gym MP3 player

Tiesto - The Anthem
Jam & Spoon - Find Me (Odyseey to Anyoona)
Underworld - Jumbo
Underworld - Two months off
Anticapella - 231

And many more....

:D

To try and help me do negative splits I have songs that gradually increase in intensity.

It doesn't work.

Although the high intensity stuff at the end is good for a final push - Prodigy/Underworld and I have a great mashup by Mark Vidler called Ray of Gob which is Madonna & Sex Pistols.

@Majere & ianw...good choices!.... Jam and Spoon is a golden oldie loved their vids to and any of those artists ianw would be fine on my shuffle.

and yes i have quite a few tracks of Prodigy Majere, Music for the Jilted Generation album is excellent(their law never fails to boost me up)

and agree i dont bother trying to get them in any order, nice to mix it up, i find when an unexpected intense one comes on it gives me a good push

Just a small selection on my shuffle

Joy Formidable, Nirvana, Weekend Wolves, Etienne de Crecy, VNV Nation, Belong, Principe Valiente, Apoptygma berzerk, Arrakis, Battles, F**** offf, M.I.A, Crystal Castles, Joy Division and a ton more trance/dance stuff!

music makes it easier for sure :)

Mark Vidler/Go Home Productions are just brilliant at mashups.

This is the one on my playlist: (warning a couple of naughty words)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrjSlTeTpNc

The one you may have heard of from him is Blondie vs The Doors : Rapture Riders
Much slower pace but great

The Prodigy one I have is 'Breathe' :D

Might get round to a spotify list at some point.

if you fancy an add on spotify be good, check out playlists for new stuff, or old i may have forgotten! ;)

liking the mashups.

I've lost 1.4 kg this week, very pleased! I think the running and calorie counting is really paying off.

I remember having a BUPA fitness check once where I was told that my metabolism was well suited to weight loss and keeping a steady weight, so I may have an advantage over others.

On other positive notes, I have entered three 10 km races between now and July, the last of which is the British 10 km in London. I've decided to run for Cancer Research in memory of my wife's grandfather, who died of lung cancer, so expect a link to the Justgiving site nearer to the time!

awesome...

I am still struggling with the running... but walks are being done daily so its all helping.

Weigh in Tuesday will be a good one!

Well done on the weight loss and great entering all those races! mad but great! :p......no its a good cause your doing it for and 10k is a nice distance, good luck with them.

My weigh in today and roughly stayed the same, which although i worked hard at the gym, i also ate alot of bad foods and beer this week! just couldn't stop munching! so overall am happy no gain.

Still got to lose 5lb to get to my ideal weight, have a walking hol coming up soon to, so next few weeks i might just do it....MIGHT! :D

@Psykokow i mix my cardio up on different days, so if i have a good run/bike one day, the next session i will just have a bike/rower day, give my legs a chance to recover from the impact of running but still have a good workout on the bike....good-luck tuesday.
