I don't recall it crashing at all, but once I'd discovered that I couldn't land on planets, or the outside of the station, or go too close to the sun, but that I could run narcotics - I was hooked.

Nice guns, Steve! :)

Only lost 0.5 kg this week, which is really annoying as I thought it would be more.

I'm putting it down to not enough exercise for the week, work commitments and my wife's birthday really got in the way.

First race of 2014

I had a bad dose of man flu all last week and up until Friday afternoon there was no way I could have run yesterday.
Things started to improve to the point where I was happy to take part but had ruled out any chance of making a PB, especially as it was 'a bit windy'

As it turned out, the weather thankfully cleared and although blustery was nowhere near the gales we had even up to an hour before the race started. The sun came out and we were good to go.

Top Top Tip. Don't drink a bottle of sports drink before the race when there is a 100+ queue for the toilets. I was busting to go from before the start but just had to live with it. It put me off quite a bit and was v tempted to stop several times when we were out in the countryside.

Anyway, despite not being 100% I took a good slice off my 2nd best time once again.
Official chip time was 51:16 and I finished 804/1637 overall 192/286 in my class M40 (Male 40-50)
On my Garmin (which matches my training runs I guess) - I did 10k in 50:57 so about 30 seconds off my 2nd best comparable time.

Now I have to switch training style for my first ever half-marathon in a months time.

Had the crap (and other fluids) knocked out of me by The Worst Stomach Bug Of All Time last week. My appetite is just about back to normal now but I haven't been to the gym for a while which is annoying but I am going again on Wednesday. I lost a load of weight as well, but that was mainly water weight so it's back up now.

That's a pound - that's fine for weightloss over a week. You don't want to lose weight too fast, because if you do then more of it will be muscle tissue; that's not the sort of weight we want to be losing. A pound, two pounds tops is fine.

Once a week weigh-ins can be misleading though; I reckon it's a better idea to weigh every day and monitor the long term trend. That day you weigh yourself could mislead you; your water levels could be higher; extra food could be in transit; glycogen differences and a whole load of other factors. The long term trend on the other hand doesn't lie.

I'm aiming for 2 Ibs pet week really. I had weighed myself mid-week and I was at 1.5 Ibs, so I had good hopes for the weekly weigh in. It was my wife's birthday the day before and we went out for a meal, so it was probably a king prawn too many!

I forgot to update this week..

Week 2 no gain no losses... Putting some effort in to shift this plateu..

I WILL Keep going.

Running going WELL... just when I think I can't be arsed.. I get up and go!

Try a 'fasted' morning exercise - i.e. exercise before you hit brekky. Something as simple as a brisk walk around the block will get your body up and running for the rest of the day. Also check your breakfast composition - see if there as an excessive carb content and try to shift it to later in the day - i.e. higher protein brekky.

You may be putting on muscle, which counteracts fat loss.

Does your body feel like it is changing shape still?

Either way, these things do happen and the really tough part is to keep motivated. Keep going, it will make a difference!

Today is an important day for me..

Today something huge happened.... today I am no longer obese!

Today I am now overweight.... with a bmi of 29.7

I know its stupid... but this is the first time in many years and it marks the first important milestone in my journey to Slimdependence...

ONWARDS to 'Goal' Weight :D

Congratulation on being obese :) I see you kicked the plateau

EDIT: I just checked and apparently I am also no longer on the wrong side of the BMI border - 7Kg to go then the final push.

:D

Impressive.... most impressive.

Well done 'kow. It's a wonderful feeling when you hit a major milestone like that.

Your commitment has been admirable. It just shows what can be done with some effort. I bet you feel tonnes better too.
To get out with the frequency you are achieving, in the wettest winter on record, is pretty impressive.

Onwards and downwards ;-)

That is a big milestone, well done, ive been five to eight pounds short of my ideal weight for several months, i just cant quite get there even with the exercise although i am starting to mix it up somewhat and noticing the difference so.....and i just got back from Lakeland after doing several hill walks(mostly in the rain and wind ugh!) but fun and man my legs kill.

Anyway well done again, your doing great
