Elite / Frontier Elite music and other stuff...

After I did my little rearrangement of the old Frontier: Elite 2 Main Theme ( https://soundcloud.com/jamie-treacher/frontier-elite-2-theme ), the daughter of the Dave Lowe - the original composer - got in touch to say they approved my version (thank goodness).
Anyway, she got in touch with me again recently to let me know about a Kickstarter her and her dad are doing to release an album of the music he wrote for games in the 80s and 90s - Including Elite 2!
There's even a tentative stretch goal to get Elite 2 recorded with a live orchestra!

Anyway, I thought I'd post a link here! :)

Mindwipe that's great!
I'm too gloomily skint just now - the curse of being an actor/composer in a 'resting' phase ;) - but hope to contribute a small amount in a few weeks.

Ah - just listened to your piece there - great stuff! A splendid melange of Courage, Goldsmith, Horner and McCarthy!
I don't know anything about 'trackers', but I was just reading today about Jonne Valtonen who was apparently big in the tracker scene and now is a really good composer - and he also does arrangements for the big game music orchestral concerts.

Did you read Dave and Holly's interview on the Blogsite TheyWereOurGods? Dave didn't realise that his music had touched our lives, can you believe that?

indeed i recently like Jamie have been talking with Holly she is genuinely amazed by it, (really nice gal to chat with also as is her dad btw)

hi gang,

This kickstarter is still running and its fair to say they could do with a big boost of support right now.

As a backer of Dangerous, I thought the Frontier music would appear, at least as an easter egg, but not a ybird.

In an ideal world (which we can move into by the way) Frontier (!) Developments would simply allow bolt-on soundscapes to E: D, so any artist(s) can transform the themescape to whatever they like; and we can have 'Classic' as well as modern themes to buy as content packs. Sound fun?

The issue. These things cost, and to do a proper job, with a real orchestra of instruments and sounds (not a fake desktop job) costs, and right now thats in the way of progress.

Support this kickstarter.

Dave Lowe releases & remakes his classic retro-gaming music including a full orchestral recording of Frontier Elite 2 at Abbey Road.

Its back for its third attempt and has done incredibly well in just the first 24 hours.. so why not spread the word and show them some love

I sincerely hope this gets the full backing it deserves this time. I'm backing it to the hilt of a mortgage payment :)
