What a moment that must have been! I'm glad that I was able to get "on board" so to speak with both the book and this new Kickstarter.
I'm very much hoping that somewhere around Christmas time, hopefully sooner you'll have your second "Golly Gosh" moment!
There is a new Elite Reclamation trailer coming. It will be made available to backers of the current Kickstarter tonight and everyone else on Friday.
I was originally waiting for some Alpha material, but as 'soon' has yet to arrive I went ahead and used my own stuff. More trailers will follow.
No real spoilers - none that would allow you to figure out the plot line anyway!

Just a quick update to wish you all a very merry Christmas and thank you for all your support throughout the year. Much of the hard work is done and 2014 promises to be an exciting year for Elite, both in the game and the fiction.
Our Kickstarter looks to be heading for a nail-biting conclusion on January the 1st, so please jump aboard if you haven't done so yet!

Good news! Got editing changes back and it was a mere two hours work...
Rather chuffed with this quote from the editor - "A masterly rewrite of the sequence at the end. The text is very smooth. I've marked a handful of typos and a few suggested amendments but only very tiny ones."
So, a pretty much final draft by the end of the week I would say... other than the ...ahem... starmap...

Just trying to work out where you are in the process, when you have a final draft (with star map edits) is it then off to proof readers, or have I missed a step?

Excellent news! I guess your previous encounters with editors have helped shape up your writing as a whole?
Currently close to final draft minus star map edits. All remaining technical clarifications are in. Michael's sent me a whole bunch of useful answers to technical questions.
Starmap remains 'soon' for now.

There is definitely some old-skool Britishness in the way I portray them, but I've tried to give them a unique flavour all of their own.
Seems a bit odd not having a book to tweak. Might have to start writing something else.
Infact I have to write a short story for some of my original backers - so I'd better get on with that.
