Just finished this, I enjoyed it a lot.

I got it yesterday and couldn't stop reading. Not many books do that with me.

I hope some of you are following the clues in the book in game. There's a quest, but it's not for the faint-hearted, nor will it be easy. ;)

Some CMDRs are beginning to unravel it as they've found clues in other works...

With all the references to this book and and Kahina Tijani sounding like the Power I want to follow, it seems I have to speed up my reading so that I can get through with the rest of Elite: Legacy and get to reading Reclamation before Powerplay launches. It's much more fun, when you know the lore behind it all.

I just finished the book and I really enjoyed it. Kahina is definitely my favourite charcter in the Elite universe so far. I really hope she becomes a Power in the next update and while I would support her in the succession conflict I would like the thought of having an Empire power not directly involved in it. It would be much more fitting for me than an Empress Loren (as funny as this might get ;) ).
It wasn't always easy to read for me with english beeing my second language. I had to look up something between double and triple the amount of words compared to other books. That's in no way a criticism, I'm always eager to learn more. But, besides my preference to real books, I was really glad to had it on my Kindle with a dictionary just a tap away.
And by the way the quality of the official Elite books is a pleasant surprise to me. This was my third book after Lave Revolution and Legacy and so far all would also make real good stories on their own. But I guess that's the difference between companys paying people to write game lore and authors wanting to write a story for a game universe they feel connected to.

Just finished the book last week. And what can I say? I loved it! Best Elite book I have read, yet. I especially liked the characters, their different personalities and how seriousness and funny aspects were mixed expertly!

Any chance you might write another book based in the Elite universe, Drew?

I try not to blow my own trumpet too often, but this review was really touching as it cuts right to the heart of what I was trying to achieve with "Elite: Reclamation".

"After reading several Elite Dangerous novels, i was about to give up on the Elite universe, put my cherished ZXSpectrum Elite memories back in my childhood wonder. The written universe was pale and shabby.

Then i started reading Reclamation... the feeling of wonder was back. This is what Elite was about, my dreamed universe while i played and discussed with friends at school, vying for the best hauls and upgrades.

All by itself this is very good Scifi novel, but because its in the Elite background, its amazing. The author captured the essence of a universe we liked and developed in our minds and games.

So without further ado, go read it, recapture a piece of your childhood. I recommend it.

If your new to Elite, well this is an excellent place to start, welcome :)"

This one was also fair. I aimed my novel at being a political/character thriller mixed with the thrill, excitement and wonder of the Elite universe.

"Of those Elite Dangerous novels I've read, this one is by far the one I liked most.

One of the reasons is that this book didn't need to emphasize so much being in a game-world or universe, it rather breathed authenticity most naturally, whereas in other novels of the series the respective author struggled to convey the feeling of realness, and thus sometimes felt a bit clumsy. But maybe that's a biased view and it's the plotting and politicking that I liked so much?

Again in comparison with other Elite Dangerous novels the story here is painted on a larger canvas, rendering it almost space opera, or at least space operatic.

From time to time I felt I could still smell/taste the fan-fic. This is not negative per se, but one must never forget that this book was written by a fan, for fans. And he did a really good job at it.

In my opinion it's really a fun read, and the plot had enough twists and turns to keep me reading and wanting to know how things would turn out.
So, if you want something like a space-politics-action-thriller with an Elite touch, then this is one for you. Surely, fans will have more fun with it, but even if you don't know the game (the old ones or the latest incarnation) I think it can still be an enjoyable read."
