At the time of Apollo 11, it was clearly envisaged that men would not come back if the engine of the lunar module did not work for the return to orbit.

The first few waves would essentially lay the foundations for long term habitation with their bones- radiation levels and low G on Mars and in space would wreak havoc on the body. You'd need to be older and have had kids or freeze sperm / eggs before your body is fried (leading to harmful mutations) and be ready for a higher incidence of cancer. Once hardened shelters are built then you can start thinking longer term if you go

Technically, he just has the most assets and mostly comprised of stock market assets, at that. Which as we all have seen, can go down, as well as up. He has the most credit, but he could not turn that $180 billion, into cold hard cash; because if he tried to, his 'worth' would plummet.

This is the major issue with the planet today. We have lots of people, who claim to have extreme wealth; but most of that said wealth, is just mortgaged assets and they are, totally dependant on the fickleness, of the money markets etc..
