Engineering. Help Needed.

Hi.

Looking to hull tank my Alliance Chief and I am looking for suggestions as the best way to go. The hull and modules I have are -

!A Military Grade Composite Hull.
4D Guardian Reinforcement Module.
4D Hull Reinforcement Package X 2
2D Hull Reinforcement Package.

This gives the following -

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks and o7 Cmdrs.

I would go reactive surface composites instead of military, heavy duty deep plating then put an HRP thermal resist deep plating in the size 1. At least one size 4 hrp heavy duty deep plating, then fill out your optionals with MRPs & GRSPs. I like to run 2 resist augment boosters & double chaff with any build.

It all depends though on what you want to do with shields, SCB, weapons & Guardian Shield Reinforcements, as power can eventually become an issue assuming you are sticking with armored PP.

Size 6 shields you can run one size 5 HRP, 3 size 4 HRP and a size 1 thermal resist HRP and still have two size 2 and one size 4 optional for MRP & Guardian SRP while having a pretty massive hull with great resistances across the board. Something like this.

Or you can go for more shield focused with a 5 shield & 6 SCB (or vice versa) and swap a lot of the HRP for Guardian SRP, as you really won't be losing shields in anything PVE going that route, so a massive hull value isn't really needed (and you'll still have well over 1k across the board). Something like this.

Either one works great in my experience, as would anything in between so far as HRP to GSRP balance.

If you want a hull ship tank engineer a Federal Assault Ship and see what it can do. It is the most ED tank in the game and shields don't really matter. It moves fast with serious engineered weapons. It can go down to 55 percent hull before taking any module damage. Then apply that knowledge and experience to your Alliance Chieftain to dial it in. How you set it up is all about the enemies you will take on. NPCs or serious PvP etc.

As above reactive armor with thermal effect. Deep plating, from what I've read Guardian has gotten mixed reviews. Maybe someone can point out its advantages.

I'm now thinking of ditching my class 2A fuel scoop for either another guardian module booster or hull reinforcement package, what would you suggest for this. If you suggest HRP should I go Thermal and deep plating like the other one?

You only need one Thermal HRP, rest should be HD,

If you go for more module protection, consider an AFMU if you are doing PVE. Handy being able to fix modules while out.
