Engineers - Your module Vs all modules

Hi,

Confused here!

If I'm at an engineer and I'm in the workshop, it looks like I have the option to 'modify your module' or 'browse all'.

I take it this means that I can either view mods that are applicable to me because of my loadout - or see all mods regardless. So if I look at 'browse all' and inspect multicannons for the class of weapon I'm using - it advertises a max dps of 29.32 (for short range mod) at the first level. But I can't actually do anything from that screen - I have to go back via 'modify your module'.

So I do that - and then the same mod shows entirely different attributes. Short range mod shows a DPS of 24.05 max.

So that's 5 points of dps difference.

What am I missing? Help appreciated.

EDIT: I'd already upgraded my lvl 3 multicannons and I'm wondering if the 'browse all' calculation is misleadingly using my already modified stats as a baseline, rather than the unmodded value of the weapons ... if you catch my drift.

My understanding is that "browse all" just shows all that that Engineer provides (not for current ship, so assume it's showing a generic value!?). Your module shows the upgrades available for ones fitted on your current ship.

There could be a couple of reasons for this: mod effect damage reduction, a non-max roll mod (the hex nuts indicating your mod level would need to be ticked for a max roll).
