Figured I'd liven things up a little here by having a topic to discuss the likely victors from 2 ships out of unrelated Science Fiction series - for example you could have, say discuss how the Serenity (Firefly TV show) would fare against the Panther (Frontier : Elite 2)
Anyway, to begin with - battle of the Hexagons
Thargoid Warship Vs Cylon Basestar
Similarities - Both are capable of launching a fleet of fighters in order to aid in their defence
Differences - Thargoid warship is highly maneuverable and is able to ambush it's targets by disrupting their Hyperspace signatures, whereas the Cylon Basestar is slower moving, but has the capability to launch many more fighters. In essence, the Basestar is far more like a mobile fortress.
Result : The differences in tactics make this one a toughie to judge. The Cylon will have the advantage in a straight-up fight, whereas the Thargoid would more than likely be maneuverable enough to evade the heavier weapons.
