Horizons Escaped Interdiction - ended up inside the planet

G'day all.
I was on my way to see Tod the blaster to have a grade 1 mod made to the multi-cannons on the new PHYTHON. Was interdicted on the way but shot that chap down and strangely the kill didn't record a credit. oh no worries.

Went on to the Starport in the Wolf system to re-arm then left to the nav beacon to get the required bounties to unlock Tod the Blaster, interdicted twice on the way, no problemo. But was thinking to myself these interdictions are a bit thick on the ground , and I dont have any bounties on me. After arriving at the Nav Beacon conducted a sweep and obtained over a 100, 000 Cr in bounties battling an ANACONDOR and then set course for Tod's Camp on the planet.

On approach to the planet, Interdicted again, but escaped, however this time my ship recovered inside the planet, I know I was inside as I could see the web like surface framework of the planet above and around me. Finally worked out how to get outside and to my dismay on breaking out all I heard was Eject, Eject, Eject.

Poof, one new, very expensive PHYTHON gone broken up into space scrap.
There was no other ship on my scope.

Just wondering if this has happened to you?

I have submitted a 'bug' ticket and also as instructed a ticket to support services.

This happened to me not so long ago, was interdicted on approach to a planet, don't think it was tod the blaster though, think it was where that crashed anaconda is on.
I too eneded up inside the planet, I coundnt SC out as I was always mass locked, flew about inside a bit and I can confirm that planets are hollow with no molten core, well this one at least, wonder what would have happened with a gas giant?
May speak high pitched for a few hrs due to the helium content?

This never happened to me, but if it occurs to you again, a safer workaround to get out of the planet would be to log out of the game, and restart the game as baseline Elite (you can select it from the launcher just above the 'Play' button). This should make your ship appear in orbit outside of the exclusion zone of the planet.

I did log out as there was no way to get out of the inside of the planet, when I logged back in I was presented with the rebuy screen.

In that case, this looks pretty much like a bug, let's hope your ticket will get you your rebuy cost back. It may not have changed anything, but did you log back through Horizons or baseline Elite?

This happened to me once. I think it was either LHS 3447 or somewhere near. I went too close to the planet and flew through it. No problems though. I was in base ED. Not Horizons.

if you log back in using the basic Elite option it'll tell you that you are to close to a planet and move you further away, FD are well aware of this has been submitted many times i think they are having trouble fixing it.

The first time I played ED-Horizons, on my first planetary approach the simulation did not freeze like it normally does when exiting supercruise on planetary approach. Never got any orbital glide, the ship simply continued into the ground in supercurise with all the "dropping-out" visual/auditory effects, etc. and when I popped out I was underground (-1k altitude!)! Since there did not appear to be any damage I simply flew up and out. When I emerged from underground my shields blew out but that was the only damage and I continued to my dirt-side destination while my shields re-charged.

Happened to me once, I wasn't looking and I crashed into a planet and ended up inside it. I tried breaking through the surface from below but to no avail, in fact I got stuck. My shields started to go down steadily so I quit the game and restarted and that saved my bacon. I respawned in space in orbit around the planet.

Happened to me a couple of days ago. There are several solutions that work.

1. "land" upside down on the inner part of the planet geometry. You will flip over without taking damage (a tiny shield hit).

2. Log out of Horizons and log into Elite Vanilla - this will "kick you out of the planet" because you aren't allowed to land in vanilla.

3. Put in a ticket and wait up to 72 hours for CS to teleport you.

Tip #1 I learned from someone else
Tip #2 FD CS told me about.
