When a faction is added to a system - does it replace the currently most influential faction or is it added as an additional faction? If it's the latter, what happens to the most influential faction, er, influence?

Anyone know how long you can expect to wait before hearing back regrading registering a minor faction?
Ben:
I think it took about 5-7 days for me to hear back. It all depends on how busy Zac and crew are. Everything has to be done manually. If you just sent an email to the groups address, try sending him a PM too just to be thorough.

Will we ever be able to "pledge" to our minor faction? As in under a powerplay pledge name have a pledge to your faction, like the npc's have?

I meant can we pledge to a minor faction without it having to be a powerplay faction. Our group has no direct intent of becoming a powerplay faction but we would like to have our groups name tags. Just like the npc's have.

No, that's not possible at the moment AFAIK.

There is a new Minor Faction in Rhea called East Galaxy Company, that came with the patch on Wednesday. I didn't see this listed as a player group. Where did this faction come from?

After Braben's statement that they didn't want to support player groups at all in ED, I'm pleasantly surprised they allowed us to do this much. Lets not look a gift horse in the Hutton Mug.

It just seems rather pointless. It amount to nothing more than flavor text. It wouldn't truly be a player faction at all.

I liked the idea of this when it was proposed, and I like the idea of it still. It adds an RP element to the game, where your group can become an actual part of the Elite universe (a permanent presence... if you can survive :D ). I'm actually thinking about adding my group at a later time (if its something they want to do).

Would we be able to claim a controlling/major station if we were to house ourselves in an NPC occupied system? If not, would we start at an outpost?

As long as there isn’t a player sponsored group in that system already then you will be the controlling faction for that system.

It seems that we experinced a bug in LFT 37 - our minor faction did become the controlling faction at it's introduction into the system, but it started at 6% influence, so it soon got embroiled in a civil war with the previous controlling minor faction.

This seemed a bit odd, as both minor factions were democracies, but even more odd was it that even though our i minor faction influence kept rising throughout the civil war, indicating that we were collecting the most combat bonds, when the civil war ended, the other minor faction gained control of star port and system ...

Can we hope for a correction of the results of this bug? Namely correcting the influence level of the minor factions back to Nov.20th level and giving back control of the controlling station to the player minor faction?

I think our minor faction is bugged. We are now entering another election. The player minor faction is communist and it is pending an election state with a democracy. Is this correct? An election between a communist faction and a democracy?

Happens all the time. Our feudal faction just won an election too.

So complex ! ! Why cant we just use the option "choose minor faction" in the right panel, (like in the conflict zone we can localy) and be considered as a member of this faction by the game for a long timer period without possibility of change before timer is expired?

Why can we already choose a powerplay faction, but not a minor one ?? its not logical.

if we are a federal player, we should not be able to join an empire minor faction, and vice-versa same thing for imperial and alliance players.
