Downloaded it a few days ago. Now i'm hooked.

I love the game ever since I stopped playing in open (got griefed just one too many times). Now I treat the game as a single player game and that suits me just fine. I don't really care about the carebear comments, nor do I care about all the negativity and other idiots on here. I'm just happy playing the game that reminds me of the many months I spent in'84 & '85 playing its predecessor.
I love my personalised Premium Backers Box and I am glad I backed this game.

i love this game it brings back memories of my younger days , looks awesome in the man cave on 7 ft screen, the graphics are really good and not taxing on not so top end pc, bimballing around the galaxy and slipping into my own little world then getting interdicted and scaring me to death, well done frontier, looking forward to the updates, may even use my experience of the game in my next book,
I think the audio is brilliant. Play wearing headphones to get the full immersive effect. Swooping into a station through the letterbox sounds very good!
Yep, I agree with you. I can see the benefits of open play, and I would genuinely love to spend my Elite time in open, but the small minority who seem to get their kicks from ruining other people's game experience really has a massive negative impact on me, one that outweighs the benefits, so I either play in solo, or group mode. Just my own personal choice, and I'm not saying others should agree with me, I know a lot of folks really enjoy open.
You may want to try a PvE group such as Mobius. I'm a member of that group, and it seems to work very well.
I'm happy, but it may be the drugs!
I am also very happy with the game - not just BASICALLY happy. I always look forward to playing it when I know I have the time for it (and also when I know I don't have the time ;-) ).
Also, I think that we can be really happy with FD as a developer. After some starting issues with tickets, they now reply really fast, they listen to sensible ideas and discussions from the fan base, and they interact with us - I mean, how often would you be able to hear something / get answers directly from, say, the person responsible for the AI or the Executive Producer? I think that's really neat.
As for the game itself, I don't think it is beta or unfinished at all. The game itself is just like the story/style of the game: evolving; you can do lots of things now, and still more is to come. That is great! (I.e. this is not to say that things should stay as they are forever, that might indeed be a little boring in the long run - but the game is fun now and will be even more fun in the future.)
And, one last thing: I am happy there are threads like this - I really enjoy reading the forums, but after a while, the endless whining about things being unfair or asking if this-and-that trade route is really good enough or not is just tiring. I hope FD realizes that there are many players who really enjoy the game as-is and look forward to the things to come!
