Everyone that is BASICALLY happy with the game post here please

I love the Immersion Elite Dangerous gives me.

I feel as if I'm controlling something serious, the visuals, the sound effects (engines noises), the controls and joystick, the scale of the universe- it all adds up to something I've not experienced since Elite back in the early 80's.

Also love the merchandise and paint jobs.

I just hope they keep adding ships, content and in-game improvements and don't change it all too much. I don't care to see my pilot or being able to land on planets, that was never a part of the original Elite.

Great work dev's.

Do we each have to post here 50 times like the moaners usually do in their threads?

Still loving it, got enough to *just* buy a T7. Need to trade another 5MCr so I can afford the insurance, some cargo, spare cash for more cargo in case i die and some improved cargo racks. Looking forward to it :)

I am also very happy with the game - not just BASICALLY happy. I always look forward to playing it when I know I have the time for it (and also when I know I don't have the time ;-) ).
Also, I think that we can be really happy with FD as a developer. After some starting issues with tickets, they now reply really fast, they listen to sensible ideas and discussions from the fan base, and they interact with us - I mean, how often would you be able to hear something / get answers directly from, say, the person responsible for the AI or the Executive Producer? I think that's really neat.

As for the game itself, I don't think it is beta or unfinished at all. The game itself is just like the story/style of the game: evolving; you can do lots of things now, and still more is to come. That is great! (I.e. this is not to say that things should stay as they are forever, that might indeed be a little boring in the long run - but the game is fun now and will be even more fun in the future.)

And, one last thing: I am happy there are threads like this - I really enjoy reading the forums, but after a while, the endless whining about things being unfair or asking if this-and-that trade route is really good enough or not is just tiring. I hope FD realizes that there are many players who really enjoy the game as-is and look forward to the things to come!

very well put :)

It's bareboned but getting better as the updates roll through. 1.3 should be interesting seeing as Brookes has said it's the biggest one yet. If a few more of the main features get a makeover/polish then the game is deffo heading in the right directions.

I'm just hoping they put some Sentient life (other than humans and Thargoids) somewhere. There's life already, just not intelligent, sentient life. I've seen some gas giants that have water based life and ammonia based life in the form of radioplankton (it gets its energy from radiation). But it's still a great game and I am very very happy with it.

Any life would be great :)

I've seen water worlds with carbon based life. Not seen any with city lights though (which would presumably appear before space flight....).

you need to get in close as pool lights don't project well up in the galaxy. And carbon based life love (and it's well understood) LOVE low lighting....

Love this game! Just having small break waiting for my hotas coming in.. (who knows when) The xbox-xontroller is fine but still taking a break until i get my shiny new hotas..
Love to explore and do bit trading. Hopefully can get into some serious shooting action later =)

If that's all, then why post in this thread? You obviously think this game stinks; and I'm sorry you feel that way, but I won't change your mind. That being the case, why post in a thread for those who are at least basically happy with the game? Since you aren't, why aren't you posting in the bash and flame threads?

Well said - a polite put down is always welcome :)

+ Graphics (suns and celestial bodies)
+ Sounds (engines)
+ Short play sessions possible with every profession
+ User Interface (except Options menu: needs search function or categories asap! ;-) )
+ PvE Focus but the influence of other players is often visible (exploration, combat zones, community goals)
+ Cobra engine (not the ship) performance
+ World size

For PvP there is Starcraft and the like.

I am happy. I like this game much than others. I am playing since Beta 1, and i have something to do everyday.
I do not need to play other game. ED is enough. I met here many great people.

I have hope the game developing will move into world presented in books (for example ED: Legacy) - planetary landings, stations, bars, dark businesses ;) Global scale of game is awesome, but ED need descent into more 'local' scale. Game should present us a people of ED universe and more unique places.

I am happy with it. Just like the old games I can jump in, spend a few hours playing, leave it for a while and come back again. Then again I don't have the mentality of some gamers that like to get a new game and play it every hour they have spare until they have completed it or reached "endgame" then complain there is nothing to do.

As I've said on numerous occasions, I've been playing ED since Alpha and I am 'missing out on' ... Well OK... postponing... some AAA titles that I know I will really like (heck I've even bought them) to play Elite. Although I MIGHT drop ED for a few weeks while I play the story line (and sidequests) of GTA V when it comes to PC.

I love this game..
I normally play at weekends and sometimes through the week as I work through the day and busy most week nights.
I'm an oldie so I played Elite back in the 80's on both the BBC and Spectrum. I loved it then and love it now.. This is how I imagined the game game back then..
The game has exceeded my 80's expectations thoroughly.. The scenery, planets, stations, etc are amazing and visually stunning..
The first time I left my dock I had a spin aroud the station just to see the detail and size of the thing.. The first time I flew past a planet with lights on the dark side blew me away.. I've flown into an asteroid field just to fly around through them (like han solo!!). I'm currently taking part in a low intensity zone trying to help a faction swing the way forward..

I still find it hard to comprehend the size and complexity of the galaxy before us all!!
