Exobiology Blues & What it needs to be worthwhile

The last one (allowing us to manually change cartridge and store the partially filled one we have) would be useful. Can't say that the distance between samples is any kind of issue for me in and of itself.

Yeah the distance isn't an issue really, in the right area I just point the SRV in one direction and keep going, collecting samples as I go. The bacteria I always collect from the ship and don't use the SRV so that's not an issue. Limited cartridges seems strange, they are small and we could easily carry a few on us, swapping as we go, yes it would get a pain if there was no way to identify which was which and having to swap between them to find out which one to use, so I think two would be ideal.

I'm an Explorer, however since Odyssey launched Iv been shackled to the bubble & not wanting to drift into the black again.....even though Iv got a full Carrier cargo load of Tritium.

What puts me off at the moment is NOT having a Genomics Station on my Carrier to sell my discoveries to. As with selling System data via the UC. Once I have that on my Carrier I'd be more inclined to leave.

As far as collecting samples goes, I don't really use the Map filters. If I'm gonna land, I land & if something's spotted, then I'll jump in the SRV & go after it/them.

The single Sample vial, while being a pain & should be capable of multi sample (say up to six), I have before now just ditched one sample for preference of another & then found the missing data set, so returned to the first sample after completing the second.................most ARE nearby, it just requires driving around in a circular motion at a roughly similar distance from your Ship.

At least Frontier ditched the 'mini roulette wheel' game of frustration............the Sampling process is now much more in line with how someone would ACTUALLY take samples 'in the field' in RL.
