Expansion Help Please

It's been such a long time since 'my' MF did an expansion I've forgotton what happens. It went Pending Exp two days/ticks ago, so I expect it to go Exp on tomorrow's third tick. The INF had been hovering around 70% in a secondary controlled (small population) system, but bolted to 76% while I wasn't looking and went pending.

Other than a 'blocking' state, such as kicking off a War or Civil War or Election elsewhere, is there anything that could be done to block the Exp, or what needs to be done to make it a successful Exp, or to take place at all? E.g. during Pending Exp doesn't the Inf need to remain above 75% (the initial pending trigger point?) or can it now drop back again. Once Exp state happens, what will happen to Inf in the other five systems the MF is in (three it controls).

What activities will help or hinder the Exp. I've an inkling it's Exploration Data that boosts Inf, and nothing much else besides.

Then, what's the Exp duration (I believe Min 3 days, Max 5) but what signals the Exp state has ended? It likely won't be ended by a War/Civil War/Election someplace else.

TIA

Expansion is 5 days pending, 5-7 days active with a 2 day recovery after.

Closest system within 20 ly with room (6 or less minor factions) is chosen as the new location.

Each day it is active you will loose 3% influence on average from the system you are expanding from, can be countered if you work for it.

If a conflict goes pending on the 3rd day pending expansion, they both go live at the same time and typically the expansion fails.

If the conflict goes pending day 2, the expansion remains pending until the conflict resolves.

If the conflict goes pending day 4 pending expansion or later it can cut the expansion short - it is successful with little negative repercussions.

As stated in the other thread I can confirm that when a conflict and a Expansion would go live on the same day the conflict will kill the Expansion off.

So to prevent the Expansion you need to make sure to go pending a conflict with your MF elsewhere by tomorrows tick (if the Expansion has been pending for only 2 days as you said).

Also, once you trigger an Expansion by going over 75% you don't need to keep it above that threshold to keep the Expansion working.

Well, we're not going to get into a conflict state by tomorrow (to block Exp), and generally I try to keep the MF well away from conflict, so I guess we'll see how the Exp plays out, and good news it only reduces the Inf in the system being expanded from.

If the expansion is interrupted by a conflict, the state ends early. If you time it right, you can make an expansion last only one tick.

At least that's how I recall it working.

I get the concept, I just don't think I've lined matters up to achieve that and hadn't anticipated the Expansion being triggered. I actively work to keep the MF out of conflicts, at 60%-70% Inf in the four systems it controls.
