Expedition VI: The Longest Journey

Could not find any update but just learned from some other source that apparently Cmdr Spallboy is already on his way back home after reaching 65,775Ly in his T9.. what an accomplishment. Congratulations to Cmdr Spallboy and his brave T9 Heavy

Man that is far, its the thought of the trip back that limits me. 130k round trip. The first time I went to Sag A I took a week off before I came back

the 141Ly you swallow with one jump.. the rest.. you are right, it is a pain.. and with that big of a tank on my a... I will have to plot every jump manually to make it worth while.. like old times :)

one sip too many..

Day 42 - Stranded in the void - 65,788.34Ly from Sol

Lesson for those who try.. when I still had enough fuel and my systems were showing me that I have ability to jump 59.85Ly (Super Boost) I decided to go for one more sip on a super cruise tank.. just to stretch my distance to 141Ly beyond Ishum's Reach.. just one more LY.. Careful Commanders, having 59.85Ly jump range I was able to activate FSD and it was showing: "Charging for 50.7Ly jump to OEVASY RG-Y D0".. I thought one more "sip" would be ok....... well, it wasn't.. now my jump range still shows 54.21Ly but I cannot make this jump to OEVASY RG-Y D0..

Nothing is perfect.. I am tired and after doing it 4 times this year I think that this is not a bad ending for my story.. I think I'm gonna stay here.. 65,788Ly away from Sol...

I would not dare to ask for help.. I spent 42 days to get where I am and in a split of a second I made a wrong call.. no return

I've flown to get my final result.. to get this one more darn LY.. hack yeah!!!!!!! 65,788Ly from Sol it is.. here's where I am gonna dwell

Congratulations commander.

I'm glad to see you finished your journey but it's a shame to hear you can't come home.

I had considered my one run for this record as being me done but you've inspired me to start work on another attempt.

Day 61 - Stranded in the void - 65,788.34Ly from Sol

.... anybody going this direction? anybody trying to challenge Cmdr Kenneth McGrew's 65,804.40Ly from Sol... please take fuel transfer limpets with you..... freezing here.. need probably 3T of fuel to jump out :(

Day 79 - Stranded in the void - 65,788.34Ly from Sol

Del-13 Soledad Distress Call:

.. it's pretty tough being here alone for such a long time.. this is the end of 3304.. will anybody come to my rescue?

have a wonderful new 3305 Commanders..

Next time think twice and do offer that spare seat to that woman you didn't want to take with you... (and a little locker to stow away the Kamasutra just in case you might need it).

Now about your rescue, i don't have the means of doing that but wouldn't it be a challenge for The Fuel Rats?

Regretably, I am on the opposite side of the galaxy at the moment, and without fuel transfer limpets :( The Fuel Rats would be worth calling, this would appeal to them, I think!

I intend to be making a trip to Ishum's Reach in the next couple of months, but it will take me a while - if you are still there when I pass through the bubble on the way out, I will stop for a refit and put in limpets for you :)

They've done that before. I'm not sure how many times they'll do rescues off of the far edge before they create a rule against doing so. :D

Yeah.. essentially you can call stupid anybody who gets stranded for any given reason.. and that's where Fuel Rats should help.. but as many concluded - what I do is just far from sane.. hence I am just simply afraid to ask, as this is.. WAAAAYYYYY too much to ask for than e.g. very famous rescue of Cmdr Persera.. (11.7Ly into the darkness).. I am nearly 600 hours of supercruise away from the edge of the Galaxy

I am counting on some (equally) crazy pilots like Cmdr Darivs, Cmdr Spallboy or Cmdr Kenneth Mcgrew going this direction for any "unknown reason" ;)

well and transferring 3-5t of fuel to DEL-13 Soledad which should be enough to jump back (not that I'd ever trust on-board instruments again)..

The issue is being able to get someone out there with a fuel limpet strapped to them. You'd need at least 2 ships, so that one ship can get there with enough fuel to transfer and also get out.
The difficulty, even for the maddest of rats, is finding enough time to put into this, two fold!

Now I'm not saying its impossible, hell the Rats do mad stuff all the time. Just, its a long shot for sure. Give us a few days though, you never know what might happen!

Magnificent Fuel Rats.. the last hope..... shall I survive it, I will surely dedicate the rest of my service in the Galaxy to this one honorable cause

At the moment us rats are working hard to get a plan together for a possible rescue. No confirmed rescue as of yet but we do have a few rats that have said they are crazy enough do to it. For the time being good luck out there CMDR.

I will just sit tight and wait.. as mentioned to "Dispatch", I'll be completely off the grid for next couple of days.. I am going to check if there is any news around Monday (Sol +5)
