Exploration changed???

Hi there!
Although I've been out of the loop for a couple of years, I have the feeling that exploration is not the same as it was in 2018. Discoveries like Earth-like planets and resource-rich planets have become less common. Is that true or am I doing something wrong?
Best regards

it's undoubtedly true
but there are 400 billion give or take systems out there and less than 1% has been fully mapped I am led to believe still you may have to travel pretty far to find them (few and far between)

Thanks fir your answer. I just remember that after a voyage of two K light years you have found somegas planets or ssomething similar. Now I started a new trip over 20 K Lj and found no earth-like. Now 2K and sometimes nothing.

I have found 3 new earth-like worlds in my last 100 jumps. Currently running a few hundred light years off of the neutron highway headed for Colonia.
Have also newly discovered 14 neutron stars on this route...

The last new earth-like was on the fringe of the Wind Chime Nebula

Hi there! The galaxy is still the same as it ever was since the game's launch, only landable planets' surfaces have changed. If you've been finding fewer ELWs or other valuable planets since you returned, that's simply down to bad luck. Or perhaps your habits of picking systems have changed.

If you're looking for Earth-likes in particular, I wrote a guide here. Then there's other stuff as well.

Yes, exploration changed. A lot.
No, the amount and types of planets didn't change - those were determined way back when Stellar Forge was written. Changing that would mean changing all of the generated Galaxy - which didn't happen.

Thanks for it. I'm outta luck. I guess

Now I found out my mistake. I haven't used the FSS Scanner. That's why of course no ELW's bo Gas giants amd so on......:(

Part of the change of exploration also means that even ELWs aren't worth :poop: any more compared to exobiology. There are some plants in Ody that will net you 10 MCr. + 40 MCr. or so for a first discovery...

You'll need to pick up an (any) Artemis suit, though. Available from your friendly Pioneer sales representative at any major spaceport.

Because of the recent global rewards for CGs exploration data is currently worth 3X the normal amount at CG. Yesterday I turned in a couple days data that included 36 terraformable planets and two ELW's all first discovery scans that would normally be around 80-90M but got 277M this time so I jumped from 33% Explorer Elite-4 to 20% Explorer Elite-5.
I'm at Vulcans Gate where just about every system is unexplored so should only take a couple more hours to reach Elite 5.

I always need to check distance and time required for anything 10m and under, the highest payout from plants is over 20m +80m first discovery bonus, so 100m for finding 3 samples of a particular Fonticulua, next best it Stratum Tectonicas, which are actually surprisingly common given the 19m+ base value. Don't forget, depending on where you are in the galaxy, you can also get an Artemis suit from any of the DSSA carriers, if you are a long way out that may be a faster way to get into exo.

Just watch out for my carrier out there and steer well clear, I have already done well over 1000+ systems around it so you may find it not worthwhile if you get to close!

Welcome in frontier.

Game company, which created the worst economy, and profits balance in any game, which I know.
I know some grindy games, and few super grindy games. But elite is completely different. Galaxy is Zimbabwe simulator, we can milk cash for "the most expensive ship" in few hours.
Balance between loops not exist (yes, I'm looking at exobiology, sorry, but it require only suit for 100k. And can pay more than trade, passengers, mining, if you havent good combat ship even combat, and still- exobio require suit for 100k. Ship capable to FAST completing combat missions require hundreds millions and engineering). And I'm saying it as someone, who recently achieved elite in exobio. Simply because I liked it since first minutes, not because I was money hungry credit grinder.

And smh I still see people, which complain on "grind".

My carrier is parked in the Fojeau Sector...is that close? I've been in VG since last October and have been exploring north to south along the Temple/Elysian Shore border.

Are you sure, the multi counts for the rank as well? Because during the CG it didn't. I turned in 600 Million and got 2.4 billion credits due to the 4x, but got only Elite1 (=600 Million).

Yes because I went from Elite 3 to Elite 5 in one day and only turned in around 150M that gave me 600M credits. No way I could have made such a big jump if only 150M went toward rank.

You are way far away, I am further north and right on the Errant Marches border so we should be ok!
