Are exploration data bound to ship or player ?

examples
I explore in ASP then I store my ASP in station and hop on vulture. Can I sell expl. data gathered with ASP from vulture ? If not, upon getting back to my ASP, my exploration data still there ?
I sell ASP buy vulture... my exploration data is lost or not ?
