CMDR Dognosh, Just wanted to point out that the "Unscoopable region" you mention, there are a LOT of those. They exist all over the galaxy, mostly on the fringes of and in between the galactic arms. As explorers they are referred to as "Badlands".

I looked at that picture and thought "that Commader has good taste in paint", then I read the caption and realised that the Commander definitely has good taste in paint! o7 Dognosh!

When you meet another Commander (in this case it was about 13.5k from home) remember the etiquette of deploying your landing gear when you drop into normal space. A collision out there due to an accidental boost is something to avoid.
Also, when you meet another Commander (Dognosh was the second I've met in the void) Wing up and scan a system together. That gets both your names on everything that either of you scan (and you both get paid for each other's scans when you get home).

Other things to do:
I'll be making a pilgrimage to Pratchett's Disc when I get back to populated space.

thanks, updated post . Many explorers I talked to didn't realise how bad that region I mentioned was, so it did help some :)
