Explorers at Jaques - You Have No Excuse Anymore

Still missing the point... What I got from your previous run on sentence was
1. you flew an adder to Jaques before it left the bubble
2. you didn't use it to shoot anyone
3. you didn't make a video

is that a correct interpretation?

1. I flew an adder to Jaque's in OPEN in MAY
2. I didn't plan on shooting anyone (why should I?) and noone attacked me - I think your assesment of the Adder as frightening PvP ship is rather accurate
3. If I'd want attention .. Make-Up tutorials or Panda Babies .. millions of viewers.

and d) silent running against PvP inexperienced players is lame. (it's lame even against PvP experienced players .. or so the "lame SR meta" threads suggest)

How many hitpoints does a vanilla Asp have? Or an Adder? Or a T-6?
Used to need a lot of testing by the community before FD put the values on display, nowadays you can just use: http://edshipyard.com/
Has all the values.

And this was posted in march:

So .. hmm .. we know for half a year now there's players who are not that great at PvP. Might be due to them not being intereste in PvP.

Exactly. And in keeping with the OP, if you just modded your darn ships you would have this many (much?):

or possibly this much:

See how awesome mods are?

Where was Jaques station located in May?

Gliese 1269

so to recap
1. you flew your adder to a station located 269LY from Sol (about 10 jumps in my adder)
2. didn't attack anyone, nor did anyone attack you. So nothing happened.
3. Didnt make a video

Now that I have cleared that up, one more question.
In what way is that the same as me flying 22,000 light years in an adder for all manner of PVP combat?

Thank you for assisting my understanding. I will then return to not derailing this very important thread.

Trade Ships have large cargo holds and are lightly armored for range and efficiency. Period.

Exploration ships have lots of scanning equipment and planetary landers. They are also lightly armored in order to get the maximum jump range for both survival and efficiency. Period

Fighters are heavly armored ships with little to no jump range. They also have the largest amount of hardpoints. They are meant for combat. Period.

Multi role ships can be any one of those things all in one chassis. However if you try to double up and make a combat/trade vessel , you just have a crappy trade vessel and okay fighter or vice versa.

There are different ships for different purposes and trying to make a ship into anything that it is not is disastrous.

Sure you can make a fully armored Asp fit for combat, but you will lose over 20% of your jump range. The purpose of an AspX is long distance travel. Its not a combat machine. If you make a Diamondback into a combat machine then you lose almost 40% of jump range. So when Trading vessels or Exploration Vessels are attacked they die.

Multi Roll ships can be anything so thats when you need to think just a tiny bit. If you see an Anaconda 10000 ly from the bubble, its almost 100% guaranteed to be an exploration ship. If you see an anaconda in the bubble in a war zone. There is a good chance that its fitted for combat.

Not everyone likes to spend hundreds and hundreds of hours collecting stuff for RNGesus in hopes that gives you anything useful. Not everyone has Horizons.

The only justification to kill dedicated trading and exploration ships is to grief them. Once Crime and punishment is put into place then trading vessels will be fair game.

It would just get deleted again :D

I was wondering what happened to that thread about the Adders killing CMDRs at Jacques. When I checked back the entire thread was literally gone. Not moved, but completely gone. It's like the mods nuked it from orbit, just to be sure.

Apparently it hadn't been modded up enough:D

It was deleted for "masked swearing to evade the filter"

There was no swearing or anything close to it in anything I posted and they haven't responded to any requests for clarity. Just nuked it and sanctioned me for trying to evade the swear filter

Well, I found the Adder grossly overpowered to take to Jaque's when it was in Eol Prou RS-T d3-94, so I did that trip in an unmodded T6 full of cargo.
Same 22kly.
85mW shield, 162 armor, no weapons and I went by myself.

5 Bonus rubberpoints if you get the Elite Lore reference in that picture. :D

Your "achievement" compared to mine .. you shot some guys who didn't want to PvP and are not even good at PvP.
And that's worth re-posting that boring video over and over.

Man .. make-up tutorials ...

So, in a word, do what thou wilt, and suffer the consequences.

Elite: Dangerous.

Well, unfortunately for those types flying the Adders in this case, all they do is drive more people to avoid open play (in the end depriving themselves of targets). Not sure if that's the 'consequences' they want though.....

Time in the video shooting people not good at pvp 3 minutes.. time in the video fighting Corvettes, combat cutters, pythons, vipers ect >20 minutes. If you think it is boring then fine, that is an opinion. I think bragging about flying a weak type 6 is boring. To each their own

Or they can do what the OP suggests and put as much preparation into survivability as they do jump range. And I say this having flown to Beagle Point and back in a full rail gun conda.

If all else fails they can learn to high wake.. because again, Adders

I think you've good and derailed the thread by now. Perhaps you could share your philosophy on getting your Adder (or whatever you were flying) modded in the first place for PvP? What mods you like to use for clubbing seals, what your process of acquiring them was, etc. I think the problem a lot of people have is that the process of acquiring the mods in the first place are kind of daunting for many of them, and I imagine 90% don't even know what they're facing from a specced out PvP setup.

Probably some good advices in OP, but I can't be bothered with engineers any more so for the time being it's only fsd boost and engine focus on my unarmed, lightweight Asp. Let's see what kind of "danger lurking around" FDEV is exactly thinking about. If they decide to (again) populate whole galaxy with NPC psycho killers, human or alien it doesn't matter, then I'll simply retire from exploration for good. I have zero interest for that kind of game. There are better ways to bring the sense of danger into exploration than simply throwing shooters onto me wherever I go.

As for the player gankers, I am routinely flying solo when approaching the bubble/Jacques to dock from my usual months long trips, so that's about it.
