Could you perhaps expand on what, in your opinion, is lame about the ability to take much better screenshots and finally being able to admire your ship and any skins you have purchased?

No it does sound good now that I think about it. Even with intention, its always abused somehow in other games ive experienced with external cams/3rd person. Which scares me.

I've never ran out of fuel, so that's not on my priority list at all. Learn to manage your fuel better.

That's your opinion, which is clearly wrong since you are the minority thinker here. The debug view is already implemented for the Media guys, they just have to turn it on for us. It's not like they held off on content because of it. It's already done, seriously.

I don't understand how external view can be so controversial. You should be happy that more players will purchase paint skins which encourages continued development of the game.

I'm looking forward to all the screenshots and videos from the community, especially from the explorers in the game.

I'm not saying it's not wanted, which it is. I'm saying it's not a priority, I don't need it because I can read a fuel gauge.

Please expand upon what you said about it being abused in other games. I play the game mostly in solo or pve private group, so PVP doesn't really matter to me. I'm too old for that stuff.

It is possible to want more than one thing at a time. I've been saying I want external cameras since I began playing, alongside saying that we need better coms, that the bugs currently in the game need to get worked out, more diverse encounters in USSs, and so on. I really, really want external cameras, but if given a choice whether to get cameras with 1.2 or improved multiplayer functionality, I'd vote for the latter. But we're getting both cosmetic and content.

Which, I could make this simpler and ask why you are posting a question about an external camera that can't be used in combat when there are more important things to post about. Remember; content, not cosmetics!

The only reason he's being this rude is because I'm not nearby. In person, I'm sure that tone would be much different.

I'm always in favor of a game having both first person and third person perspective. Even after reading about and debating the issue on these forums, I still believe in being able to choose from either perspective, but lots of folks believe adding third person would go against Elite tradition and negatively affect gameplay. So, I don't really get worked up about it. Some folks seem to have legitimate concerns. So I'm happy with the compromise FD is delivering. I can live with it :)
