FA-Off while using M+K suggestions please

Still bombing around with FA-off.

SC is annoying but I've bound the directional movement inputs to my number pad so I don't break my wrist trying to to do full 180 in SC!

Still finding it difficult to land quickly at the rotaty stations but when you get it right man does it feel good!

Combat is still very much a mess for me. I can still handle myself in a RES ok but thats more to do with target selection than anything else. My little adder handles nicely enough but I won't even last 5 mins with a decent player in my sights!

I actually find that FA-off is easier in the more sluggish ships. I can FA-OFF land an anaconda with ease. The FdL on the other hand is ttwice as fast and I seem to constantly overcorrect. Honestly though, there are so many M&K reasons to use FA-ON that I tend to have the FA-off as a primary mouse button and spend a lot of my time toggling it off during combat where the agility matters but living with the QoL benefits of FA-ON for docking/mining/supercruise etc.

If I could link relative mouse with FA toggle then thats a huge QOL improvement IMO.

Currently I am flying FA-off but I often FA-on to dock. But relative mouse with FA-on is a total PITA! and Fa-off without relative mouse is worse!!!

Still messing around with FA-off full time.

Landings are getting better but then I have a run of playing ping pong with station structures until I switch FA-on and land with help!!

Still not sure i have the best setup for thruster controls etc but I'm still experimenting with it...

Way more fun than FA-on though!!

I know for a fact when I turn FA off in a station I rotate with it but when I hit the End key and the ship tells me RC is off the station starts to rotate and I get slammed into 'stuff', if I hit the key again then the ship and station are at peace with each other again . :)

I'll try to get a video done tonight... Unless I've totally lost the plot of course which may be the case :D

The station turns under you as you descend with it both on and off. For comparison, try turning rotational correction off with FA-on.

I agree that something does feel a bit weird about it, but turning rotational correction off has no effect that I can divine when flight assist is off.

I'm back in my beloved (yet un-engineered) MK IV and as much as I still love it flying full FA-off is, to me at least, seemingly blooming hard after flying sideys, eagles and Vipers after my save reset.

Anyone have any tips for flying FA-off in the more sluggish MK IV Cobra or any of the other 'slowboats' out there?
