FaceTrackNoIR Guide with PS3 Cam

Hello guys!

Maybe i have missed something. But how can i activate this in the game itself.

So facetrak works pretty well. It recognices my face and the movements. But in ED nothing i happening. Do i have to activate the Head Look mode somewhere?

I ran into the same problem. Make sure you have the Facetracknoir Supported Games.csv file. Step 5:

5. In order to get facetrack noir working in Elite Dangerous, you need to download an updated file called 'Facetracknoir Supported Games.csv' at http://sourceforge.net/projects/facetracknoir/files/

Then make sure you are dropping it into the "Settings" folder of wherever you installed FaceTrackNOIR. For me, this was C:\Program Files (x86)\FreeTrack\Settings.

Then, just launch the game and it should automatically work, as long as you have FaceTrack running before launching, with all the right settings OP mentioned. I usually just jump into the first training mission to test it out. Have fun!

I had put the file in the facetrak folder and not in the settings folder. it was my mistake. I was not careful enough because i was jumping around like a child all the time

Looks like all versions of the free driver have vanished from the net. Shame as I had downloaded it when it was free then deleted it prior to today buying the ps3 eye grrr

Awesome! That's exactly what I did. I watched a YouTube tutorial and I swear that's where he put his file... but then reading the instructions here set me straight.

My DelanClip finally arrived today and holy crap, I love it!
This thing is awesome with a PS3 Eye. All in all MUCH cheaper than TrackIr. Way more accurate than face tracking and of course I can play with the light of now.

Did you remove the IR filter or modify the ps3 cam at all for the delan clip or did you just use 'as is' and select point tracking in facetracknoir?

Yeah the LED's seemed pretty dim to me so I guessed I was just unlucky and had the model with the IR filter.
Once I opened it and took the filter out the LED's were crazy bright on the camera.

Will i get motion sickness ?

I tried out EdTracker but having drift issues with it all the time. When i did get it to work i got quite sick, i had to sleep b4 the nausea would go.

Or maybe i should get Track IR ?

I've just ordered a PS3 cam and obviously the led clip is the way to go.

It seems that the Delan Clip is no more available at the moment. Any idea if it is temp ?
I wish I was a bit better at soldering for a home-made clip.

That's interesting !:smilie: So all you need is to stick a tag on a cardboard with a hat.
Is it as smooth as the led clip with the ps eye in any light condition ? I get motion sickness with the faceapi method.

Delanclip user here, ps3 cam with ir filter removed and visible light filter inserted (comes with delanclip). Perfect - hardly any lag, using freetrack software.

Delanclips are available on ebay right now.

Thank you for your feedback. Not sure if the ir filter can be removed on the unit I ordered though.
I hope The Delanclip's leds are bright enough.

This is a link to the driver I downloaded a while back from the official site, so I guess it's the free version. Just uploaded it.

CL-Eye-Driver-5.3.0.0341.exe

The site makes my browser come up with dire warnings for some reason, but it's fine as far as I can tell, and the downloaded version is byte-for-byte identical with the uploaded version.
