Failed to start FORC-FDEV-DH-1000: the requested operation requires elevation.

Hey guys, does anyone know how to solve this? Never saw this problem before, and I've tried starting the application and even the launcher in Administrator to try to make Elite start, but to no avail (and have validated files)...

Game was working perfectly fine last time I logged in and logged out last night :/

Anyone have this issue before and know how to solve it?

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Don't mean that as a trite response.
Can't recall the specifics but I've had the ED launcher throw a fit before and restarting the PC always seems to make the problem go away.

Okay, sorry all, just solved it for myself (windows 10).

I went into that FORC-etc. folder and found the 32bit .exe - I went into compatability and ticked "Run as Administrator" for the 32bit client...

All of a sudden, the game launcher now allows it to open the 64bit client and doesn't give me that error...

Most bizzare for the launcher to stop launching the 64bit client if the 32bit client isn't ticked up to run as admin, no?

If you search on your favourite search engine for "the requested operation requires elevation" you should see a number of articles that suggest way for fixing this. You may need to check specifically for your Windows version.

The main one seems to be changing the ownership back to an admin account but read a few and see if any other fixes might work.

Ninja'd :)

To be fair, that's probably a Window problem not a Launcher error.

Windows 10 at that. What works yesterday might not work today thanks to forced automatic updates........
