FAOFF Appreciation thread

been doing a bit of trench run practice in the Icurry, Only section I have problems with are the triangle sections with the crossbeams. they tend to "eject me" from that section on the coriolis. still have not lost it yet, but when trying to land on the ring on a orbius, got taken down to 7% hull though. but its kinda funny how stations are amazingly fun to explore. wish there was more stuff like that, or even things like repair jobs, would be fun to try and get into a maintenance hatch with one of our ships and hold it into a tight position. but thats just me.

Yeah man, I agree completely. Would be great to have more similar places to do the same. Hopefully soon when the add more structures from CQC and perhaps the planetary bases.
And keep trying with triangle sections :D I know what you mean, but after a while you will just make it work smoothly. Share a video or something of your progress ;)

Been a while since I tried, but The Trench Run (the Gold Star of fo-off for me) I could never get the hang of...might need to try again now I have Yaw tamed.

Like the idea of the Repair job Missions :D

Toot toot! after seeing many videos of people doing the trench run, about 8 months or so ago I made one myself... It was made when i had only used a throttle and stick for about a week

So what happened yesterday? 8 months of steady game play?

I think it is safe to say, iv improved :D

Hello fa-off enthusiasts! It took me too long to find this thread. I've been using fa off since the bringing metals to kaushpoos CG and it's really made the game a lot more enjoyable for me even though at first I wasn't sure if it was even possible :)

Now I haven't read this whole thread but I've flicked through and not found anything that really helped. I use keyboard and mouse and really enjoy it (would love a hotas but honestly kb and m seems to work well for me) but the oooonly thing that has been annoying me is that I've had to turn on mouse centering to control the ship properly, but this means in supercruise its nearly impossible to turn around quickly and also makes evading interdiction a bit painful.

Luckily I can click a button on my mouse to change sensitivity to stupid levels which helps a bit, but I'm borrowing this mouse from a friend so it would be nice if anyone knows a way to turn quicker while in supercruise it would be a game changer for me :D still though fa off is worth having the almost 10,000ls turning circle in sc haha :)

Oh yeah and these videos are great to watch :D some awesome flying cmdrs!

ya, you did really well. made my flying look poor.

anyway, I have a terible gpu so I doubt any recordings I do will look nice, but, I can try. I do have a screencap from my wingman though.

I like the curry, but as I now also have the Ieagle, I will try running that and seeing if it can sneak into the smaller slots.

If anybody having sensitivity problems with their Joystick, I currently have a X52Pro and here are my settings with Jcurve, works like a charm:

I wonder, would it be worth trying to get together and do coordinated tunnel runs with cameraman on the outside and on the inside. would be alot of fun to see what kind of mess we can get into, also, bonus props for people bringing larger ships. (I might try a t6 for example)

Can I post a video? Well I'm going to. Messing about with the docking training mission this morning, in the Sidewinder [Xbox One]

Nice flying. After two weeks of FA-OFF I cant go back to ON. Its really second nature now even in combat. Its so much better. I fly OFF all the time. Still some landings can be a little bad if rushed :)
Yesterday I cleared my save and took a sidewinder to a hazard res site. Managed to claim victory over a few FDL ships solo without aid from other ships

We don't have flight stick support (yet, if ever). I'd give my left leg for a decent control setup

Pretty much the same. In truth...I actually find most things harder to do now with fa-on..except orbis/borg stations, they still drive me nots...oh and the Smugglers Dash.

Tried landing at an Outpost in fa-on...what a mess :D
