Farming Npc’s at stronghold carrier’s

Not true. Go to their Stronghold carrier and do the same to them.
that doesn’t reinforce the system it’s happening in, that’s not counterplay. If I go to their system and do the same that doesn’t reinforce the system they are undermining, it’s not about revenge lol. It’s about preventing them from pushing the system out of our control via a means that has no means of countering on the same pace, it’s a Balancing issue.

Hang on, does killing them reinforce the system? Or just temporarily prevent them undermining it. Is there no other way to reinforce a system? I thought there were activities for this.

Not on the pace of what they are doing, they are in solo or a private group just pulling the npc police at the carriers away from the carriers and slaughtering them, we can’t fight them in private group or solo, and the speed at which they’re able to accrue undermining points outpaces any of the activities for reinforcing the system, by far. It’s a pacing issue or balancing issue. Basically they can run full speed and we have to carry a rock and stop and solve a puzzle every other step, our only hope is if they just stop. It’s 3 guys and we’ve got 0 chance of catching them I’m in a discord server for the power easily a dozen players tried to reinforce and they out paced us badly the undermine is over 5x what the reinforce managed to get to.

I've not messed with PP2.0 yet, but does it show you that it's only 3 commanders... or did you just see 3 doing a thing and assume they are responsible for 100% of the effort against you?

Outpaces a similar sized group? Or do you mean they're undermining faster than the entirety of CMDRs reinforcing the system? Because there has to be a ton of guys in solo/pg who are reinforcing the system also.
They massively outpace a similarly sized group, we had more than triple the players reinforcing, we’ve been watching it all day.

The squadron they’re in has 3 players, so sure there could have been more, but it’s not hard to figure out we watched them do it for a long time in open yesterday, it’s better than farming npcs at a hazardous res site. There’s no reinforcement option that can outpace that. It’s literally a never ending shooting fish in a barrel scenario. Even if the system had a hazardous res site (which it doesn’t) we still couldn’t keep this pace. Eventually it’ll end up on YouTube and it’ll become a big deal, then it’ll have to be dealt with.

It does seem like that's exploiting the NPCs a bit.

Maybe after being attacked a certain number of times, the stronghold carriers should batten down the hatches for a bit?
I love that you seem to be the first person that understands I’m not just whining but actually pointing out a simple issue, and yeah I think your suggestion is perfectly sensible.

I shouldn't worry too much, it's very early days and the effect of farming npcs, or anything else unbalanced will be tweaked as needed to prevent PP coming off the rails.

Out of curiosity, which stronghold system is this and how do you see it? I'm seeing 0 control points on either side of any stronghold system I look at.

I’d post it but I’m afraid to post it here for fear of exacerbating this issue. I can tell you currently it’s 291,000 to 43,000. I promise you I’m not making it up, I do agree though, eventually someone will make a YouTube video on it because it’s certainly a great merit farm, and then it’ll get addressed.

What you described doesn't sound very efficient. Four ships like that will give you about 200 merits per Cmdr I think. So they'd need to do it order a thousand times to get those merits. I suspect it's other people doing other things too. It's also hard for you to know that they went to PG. They may have gone and done something else, assuming it wasn't all them. I agree regardless that they should do it in open and the game should resist such cheesy methods of earning. Just a little skeptical.

Go to their system and do the same thing. They can't stop you either. It's by design.
The issue is a) PvE NPC defences are crap and b) due to the diffuse nature of PP2 that tactic is of limited use given how decentralised it all is.

You should be able to get some NPC kills here- the problem is this is continuous farming. In the BGS this was prevented by ATR, whereas the PP2 security is flawed in its response.

They definitely would not be able to do it this efficiently if PPV2 was Open Only, which seems to have been the original intention by the look of this design. :)
