OK then...... :D

OK anybody know where the best place in the Empire is to find charity missions for the purposes of ranking up quickly?

Assistance appreciated :)

Okay, so I'm a little confused about something. I ranked up to post commander back in 1.2, when it was the highest rank. Now that the whole system seems to have changed, and I've now done a lot (I mean a lot, hundreds) of charity missions, I'm starting to become concerned that maybe I'm having to do all the "previous" work of getting to post commander again, THEN up to the next rank? When the system change, did the hidden variable that it was before convert accordingly to the new hidden variable?

Took me 192 missions to get to Post Captain from Post Commander - this was yesterday.

Rear Admiral - 181
Vice Admiral - 219

How long it takes with charity missions to grind from Post Commander to Admiral?

edit.

Is this like a day? Couple days? a week? or a month?

I think i found a good trick. When you actually see promotion missions popping up, stack smuggling missions. They should all have the same target station (in my case in Liabeze, it was the station in the same system if you take it from the outpost) and take very low cargo. So if you have, say, an Asp with 100 cargo, you can take 20-50 missions, depending on how picky you are. Obviously you just go and finish them all, i think that helps in progression - especially since you find and complete charity missions during stacking those!

What? Why so low number? I had hundreds more.

.. +- 100 char. / hour ;)

= 2 days for me..

+ some smuggling (8 missions total maybe - 4-8mil each)

..well ..idk

(btw...6-10th rank was +- 55 regular missions for each rank..before 1.2 update)

How many hours do you play per day?

Well, how many hours? Would be even better.

I have done rather many butchering the neighborhood missions. I have took bounty on my head. I am wanted in multiple systems. I have at least one hostile system, cannot land on stations. All this I have done for the Corvette... I mean for the Federation!

The targets have been independent systems.

So I have been trying to play the game as I suppose it was meant to be. I have done rather many missions, spent rather long evenings to do this. I have seen zero Naval missions from all that. Currently I am a Post Commander.

I read here and other forums that people just login/logout to do charity. So just want to know how fast if would be if I would just go to charity station and start donating?

Thanks, all I wanted to know.

I think FD should promote me now directly to Admiral + give me a free Corvette when it comes out. I have tested their content, and it provides no surprises. They have provided standard FD quality, ludicrous fail as always.

I suppose, chin to the chest and go to do charity missions.

..and yes..this approach makes me sick (..but ..add a new ranks.. this was a low-blow)

Anyway, i think.. post-commander must be enough. ..... everything above.. useless grind.

I really hope 1.5 brings big changes to missions and maybe finally we will have proper navy and PP missions.

32-40 Charity missions (total) from recruit to chief petty officer. This was after about 1200 BH Vouchers/Combat Bonds. 500K or so spent.

Only 1.7 billion? Hmmm that might not be enough for the 'Vette. Keep saving, maybe if you get to 5 billion that will be enough.
