Fast Ranking

Have we really not found a better way? This is excruciating, especially when they don't always appear. I'm even having instances of the BB not refreshing at all even by switching through all the modes.

I am like few hours away from Rear Admiral rank, and that will be the end of my charity grinding for ever. I just can't see myself doing same thing for getting Empire ranks, it is too boring and tedious.

At least it seems there's a lot of systems to choose from when doing the charity grind for Impire rank. Looks like there's only two identified systems which are good for Federal charity ranking and on had a permit which you only get near the last rank.

I haven't tried this yet for either, but I'm thinking about it. Does it still work?

I haven't tried hard to rank up on either side since Earl and Post Commander were the top ranks, but I'd better get crackin so I will be allowed to buy the new big ships after beta if I want them.

What are current best places for Imperial ranking?

17 Draconis is where I just got Rear Admiral rank. Some occasional long range smuggling missions appear too. Nice to take them while doing promotional ones.

Wow, i hit Post Commander within the running time of the film "Predators". I had a good rhythm going though and was dealt a good hand time and time again.

I went to Tun and yes there definately is more donation missions there. When you you complete the mission to donate credits it results in more "economic bust" for the faction you donate too. In fact all the fed factions in Tun is in a state of "Bust" and I guess it's because so many players are completing donate credits missions there. Is this a bug? I would think donating credits would result in the opposite of a Busted economy? For example commodity donation results in economic boom and not bust.

Money are very, very evil.

After I turned from my neighborhood mayhem to donating for Tun, I got ranked from Post Commander to Vice Admiral, really-really fast. I even completed my Naval Ascension mission by donating. Spent ~+8 mill I think, in money and various goods.

I do not understand why FD is balancing the game like... "Minimum effort, Maximum gain". I suppose it goes as well, "Maximum effort, Minimum gain".

Not sure if I should leave the Admiral rank, to be played like it probably should be. Or rank it now fast, and then later turn to the dark side? Well, in the end there is nothing on the dark side, except "Maximum effort, Minimum gain".

edit.

Oh, and forgot to say that... FD, the background simulator should handle things like this exactly. If lot of people donate, then the needs of that system should change. Make some kind of need hierarchy in the background simulator.

yeah... but I don't think it makes sense that giving money can result in a bust for the receiver. Why has devs not adressed this issue yet...? Anyway what is the actual effects of a bust? Is it decreased stock of supplies? higher buy rates and lower sell rates?

Its such a boring grind, if only we had a progress bar at least It would feel like youre working on your goal.

I was actually thinking this the last evening while I was just login/logout, and watching fallout 4 reviews at the same time.

I understood, that it was more fun than shooting endless amount of bots, with gimbaled weapons. *sob*, that was a sad feeling.

I actually understood that I have been trading +400 millions, and I did that mostly before they multiplied the income rates. I understood that CZ and RES are more boring with gimbaled weapons, than watching tv-series while hauling.

CZ and RES... Think about mmorpg, a table flat surface, with endless spawns of monsters. They stand nicely in rows and columns, 10m between. Just waiting you to kill them one at a time. Then the game content is to kill 100000000000000000000000 mobs.

Why the hell am I even playing the game? It is just very potential, I believe DB will one day understand that as well.

So obviously nobody asking for a naval progression bar* has looked into the 1.5 beta (Youtube videos) yet. Because they added just that! :D

Thanks to Crui.In for correcting me, that's what I wanted to write!

That makes no sense?

You mean naval progression status bar, showing how far along you are.

And yes, I did notice ...
Here is a quote from Sandro ...

So my advice is try to get to the top rank, as that will be the only way to be certain you'll have the rank for it.
Even those of us with 1.5 Beta access can't tell you, as there are no rank requirements in the beta testing.
EDIT: I can tell you that you'll have a % bar for Federal/Imperial/Alliance ranking.

That was posted on the 15th November.

Knowing FD they'lll "fix" the donation missions soon enough and force you to grind the long way.

So do them while you still can.

Okay, I am hereby sorry that I wanted to help those who don't follow Fdev closely. I will never do it again, promise!

I am sorry ... please keep helping. We all (even me) need as many as possible helping ... (and no, I wasn't criticising you.)

This is exactly what I'm intending to do until 1.5 :D

No problem, it's just that I felt a bit dumb blurting out things before taking a look at when the last post was made :)

i went to exbeur and grinded from post commander all the way to vice admiral. now im looking for some place to find charity missions as exbeur really isnt generating anything. so i am reading this forum and i go over to TUN and i found 3 charity missions the second i land. and no its been like an hour and i havent seen one charity mission.

The best way to grind imperial rank is to get to Fehu as soon as you get ascension missions.
Take all the smuggling ascension mission for the first half hour and then start with taking the delivery ascenscion missions with takes 50+ minutes - as time runs you can take more and more of the delivery ascension missions.
If time runs out(you were slow switching/restarting) or if you cannot get more missions (yes there is a limit) you deliver everything to the station in the same system.
In between you can accept of course all the charity and bulk freight and normal smuggling missions. So you can do one run to the bubble to earn some extra money.
In lower ranks you should get instant ascensions missions again - in higher ranks not.
To do this effect you need a big ship like pyhton or anaconda and a high trade rank.
