I reckon that, being fairly focussed, I can make about 50M in an hour. That's doing my favourite delivery runs from Taygeta to Electra and also picking up any attractive Pirate Lord or "fetch" missions at the Electra end.

This isn't my usual play though, I'm usually messing about at a Guardian ruin or a Barnacle forest or something.

I reckon that if I earn 20M in a week I've paid for two weeks on the carrier, so I can mess about the rest of the time.

It can be relatively easy if you have friends. Stack up missions or just use a FC to "trade" as mentioned earlier.

If you happen to be there when Rakham is throwing his party, you can do it that way to. Sadly, Hudson don't want to destroy democracy for billions anymore, so that one is out.

Otherwise, put your brain in a jar and you can just grind robigo or whatever until your eyes start bleeding. I guess it's possible that way.

You can also leave your npc crew member in a low rez with a full cargo hold and stacked massacre missions. Let her earn her wages while you sleep.

If it is your first account and you don't have friends ingame, the easiest thing is to ask on discord servers, some are very active and there's people willing to share massacre missions. Then money comes raining in!

But for a new player, it's really a way to lose lots of fun in game progression. It's more fun to take your time and enjoy the game (as many players discover in retrospect!, me included)..

My second account, i don't even bother with big and expensive ships. I eventually bought a Viper, Vulture, Fdl for combat, Python for missions, Dbx for exploring and taxi, done! Now I just do BGS, role play bounty hunting, and work on engineering, money is just not a factor!

I think I read that even though the CG is over, it's still paying good money. I could be wrong though.

in the last 30 days doing pirate massacre missions, acccording to Inara. That's roughly 1.1 billion a day, playing for about 7 hrs a day. About 30% of that has been from wing missions that I had nobody to share with, so that's 10 billion someone could have had for nothing.

Day one player since release date. And 50,000,000 million credit missions with friends. Made enough money then bought a type 9 to help out faster. Then while you are doing that and when you go to turn them in claim either the money or the special stuff that is g5 mat's.
