General Gameplay Fauna other than Dinosaurs

I'm not sure if this could be done, but what if small mammals, birds and reptiles could be introduced, almost like living decorations. A way to better exhibit a living eco system.

Huh, logical, but which animals? Birds, at least the ones that live nowadays, didn't exist when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, so it wouldn't really fit in a dinosaur enclosure. Furthermore especially carnivores could tend to kill and eat any animal large enough one might introduce into their territory. So: Animals we could put into an enclosure that wouldn't get eaten by certain dinosaurs are most likely that small that the player could hardly see them after all, so I don't really see a point in this, although I understand and appreciate the idea.
