FC based explo-miner ship

I have been struggling with this for a while now.
The idea is to build an FC based explorer that can also mine trit for the FC.
As an explorer it needs
  • an SRV
  • a scoop
  • a DSS
  • and about 50 LY jump range.
As a miner it needs
  • 2 med mining lasers
  • therefore 2 5D collector controllers
  • a prospector controller
  • about 100 tons of cargo
  • a refinery
Do you think this scenario would work? Do I have the specs for the ship in the right priority?

I set up a Python and a Krait Phantom. I prefer those as they use the pre-engineered FSD. But the Python doesn't have the jump range and the Phantom doesn't have the holds. Looking at the Krait Mk II it seems to be the worst of both worlds.
The limiting factor is the total number of internal slots. The Python has 10 and that's about the minimum but sadly it lacks the jumprange.
As always, your ideas and suggestions are welcomed. 🧐

You want Anna the Conda

That might be the best option. Scout ahead, bring in the FC when a system suitable for mining is found just within the 500 LY jump range. Then switch to the miner.

Good suggestion on the Anaconda, but it needs too much engineering for my taste.

If you go for 2 ships, you dont need any engineering for the python
Sure, it doesnt fit the bill for range, nor for equipment, but you dont need it anyway.

Just fly the explorer in advance, then fly the Carrier in the system you want to mine.
You dont need jump range nor a fuel scoop or any other trinkets. Just a plain laser mining ship.
Even a non engineered Conda or T9 can do it - if you can deal steering the cows in the field (i dont mind so my mining rigs are either Conda or Cutter)

How about a sub-surface mining Beluga explorer? The one in the link needs tweaking, but you get the idea.

Thanks for your valuable suggestions guys. I wanted to limit the number of ships on the FC but it turns out only the Python will do, especially since the jump range is not that important after all. When scouting out an area, the mapping is mostly done in economy mode anyway.
But, since I'm not a fan of the Python, I'll use the Phantom instead. Kitted out for exploration first, then bring in the FC and switch it to lasermining.
