Dude, they're making money from multiple games and Elite is setup in such a way that they make more money from Arx. Don't you see why the company don't care less about the quality of their Elite updates when they reckon people will just buy them anyway?
If we want to keep the game running we need to pay for it no questions asked.
If we want the game to keep running then it needs to be paid for, certainly. Doesn't mean we, specifically, need to pay for it any more than we already have.
If the game is good, then new players will keep buying it, and it's got a sustainable income stream to support "keeping the lights on".
If the game isn't good, then they won't ... but then it won't be worth me spending my money to prop it up either, if it goes that badly wrong in future.
Right now, Frontier is making solid profits and has substantial cash reserves, so no need to worry.
Dude, there's a measure of money deserved and needed and to reiterate, they ARE making money. If you love them enough to pay for every update when they knew fine Odyssey was broken, and worse, completely unfinished to the detriment of the console release they must have been aware was in an even worse state, then it says a lot about your care free mindset.
You encourage the very disasters when they expect to be paid for their mistakes regardless of effort or lack thereof.

I don't think its question of whether we have to pay for software received, of course we do.
The discussion really is about peoples responses based on what was received after the payment was handed over. People are still here, so its more clinging to a hope that its repaired and even stays positive going forward, but given how systemically frontier underbake things that's probably just wishful thinking.
I can only speak for myself, but after finding elite, then frontier, then realising every game frontier has made is magically almost like frontier were my own personal game developers, they're a perfect fit. Yet i haven't paid over $200, even more considering cosmetics sales, on their full price releases mainly from the neglect of elite.
Well its probably just sobering common sense, instead of "keep the game running" buying i bother to look at the reviews now, and smile in familarity when others point out the same shortcuts in their entire portfolio.
Amazon Web Services costs are expensive though; 25€ is pretty cheap.
FDEV arent getting anymore money out of me until they can show they can do a better job with the resourses they have, they need to do more testing before realeases, incorrect hostile displays and fire groups issue make me wonder if they test at all. I dont see how they could justify more money until they start to show that it would be used to full effect.
If they were even going to consider it they (for me) would need a clearly defined & public roadmap, these are the things that were working on and these are on the list and they havent worked like that in the past

Yea they should probably increase that to whatever gives them the most bang for their buck.
Talk about ship interiors in dev blog. Put the LEP on sale again for $200. Shut down servers in March.
I guess that would be a lot of bang for very little buck.
