FDEV I can't believe you re-introduced another bug from the beta, AGAIN!

I'm assuming its a different bug that looks the same as the last version. There are many issues with the FSS at the moment since the last update and this one isn't the worst.
When I've seen the zooming issue I directly stopped using the FSS so I haven't noticed the other ones 🤯

Very amusing seeing non developers try and work out the software creation process.

Software, especially now, is really complicated. Even with the best will in the world, and the most testers, and the most unit code tests you can afford, you can't hope to cover all code paths/use cases. When you change something, it tends to break something else.

At some point, you have to release it into the wild and see what happens.

Its the rule for all SW. It's just life.

I agree, I am the final customer actually so I don't care at all how they do it. I just want a game that doesn't break at every update.
If they want to make a beta test phase I'm still available to give my contribution though.

"Computer programs are the most complex things that humans make." - Douglas Crockford, Javascript: The Good Parts

I'll add that games are the most complex computer programs that humans make.

And I'll agree with you that full path coverage is often impractial or straight mathematically impossible.

If we can all agree that it's practically impossible to release a bug-free game, the next point is that they should stop rushing updates without a proper test phase. I spotted the FSS bug at my very first system scan. I can't believe they tested the FSS and gave the go-ahead in this condition.

No can do. The number of players driven away by bugs is much lower than the number of players driven away by the lack of content.

But this latest patch (2nd May) was rushed to correct bugs not to introduce new contents.
Well of course they have to fix bugs from time to time!
Usually each developer fixes his own bugs, but both fixing and development of new features is managed through priorities, and those are determined and set by managers.
I'm not trying to defend my colleagues, but a manager can delegate everything except responsibility and most software problems are unsuccessful because of management and communication problems and not because of technical problems.

All i has to say about the patch is this..
