FDev in the news...

Good job forum whiners - made the lazy press think there's more than trivial stuff wrong and helping put new players off - slow hand claps all around!

All those bugs mentioned in the article are Fdevs fault, not the players... Drag munition rollbacks aren't going to put any new players off.

It's also pretty shocking after all these years Fdev still don't test their updates properly. Several of the major bugs in this patch would have been noticed in less than an hour of play (framerate drop, power priority bug etc).

It's not the fault of the "whiners" that those articles are published, it's the clickbait attitude of certain media.
By definition a game is always trivial stuff, but some of the things still needed to be adressed.

They are certainly part of it, but from the number of threads about the trivial 10CR restock you'd think the sky had fallen in on the game, which it patently hasn't.

I would tend to disagree... Frontier did this to them self's, as for trivial stuff being wrong, by them self yes it's "trivial" but when you put them all together it's a different issue! Is it still playable yes, but just, and each update takes more and more away from the game.

News does not equal some poor article on a website I've never previously heard of. Though these days, apparently that is what many others refer to as news...

totally agree with you, but Massively Overpowered IS a pretty high-profile site for MMO-related news.

The fact that you've never heard of it is likely more a factor of you not being tuned into MMO-related news than the obscurity of the site itself. The site has only been around for around 4 years as well, so is still building traction. Also I am not sure how much Elite Dangerous would even appeal to it's core audience, so the impact of such a story doesn't seem all that big of a deal. If anything, it might attract some people who hadn't heard of the game because it is outside of their normal gaming preferences.

I've yet to see a release from FD that didn't contain a number of serious issues.

You just get used to it.

People have ranted and raved for years about these things, and nothing has changed. Those who say if you don't scream from the highest rooftops you won't get any improvements... well, sorry guys, but here we are, years later, and patches still result in a number of broken things.

Either the game is extremely complex and fragile, or they have spaghetti code all over the place, or they just don't know their own code very well, of they don't care, or we all just don't understand software development, or whatever... take your pick, depending on whether you are a fan or a hater, presume what you want, but it is what it is.

I never even heard of this site untill now so the article doesn't do much to me.
It's time Fdev is confronted with their lack of Quality Controll when releasing updates though.
A lot of the new but also old bugs in this update are way to obvious to have been missed so they just decided to release it and sort it out later, a bad move imho.
