FDEV level of communication...

Is this a parallel universe or have you failed to recognize that they never share information at all in time? A week before release we got the very first numbers with ARX being capped at 400 per week coupled with the prices, means 24 cents per week. A very poor number. And that's it. Also the other 100 questions from the community remain unanswered, as you can see below.

A random Youtube video? Please...

We got details about Fleet Carriers 4 months before their release. Anyway, you're of course entitled to your opinion, just as I am to mine :)

Are you demanding a pay rise to play the video game ?.

I can't be sure if your British or not so this may make little sense to you, but do the BBC pay you 24 cents a week to watch their programs? Does any TV company? Free money is free money, end of.

It's not that hard to improve on silence
Silence relative to specific questions, not silence in general.
They've provided some info on carriers and then gone on to answer some community questions about them. Similarly for ARX. They also respond to some forum queries or reports of problems.
This is not silence.
I can't say I wouldn't like more information more regularly about a wider array of topics but I also don't feel I can say we are completely stonewalled, that is unfair.

FDev's communication used to be... what's the term here; more comprehensive, in my "opinion". That, I think, backfired though. Carriers and Ice Worlds were well received, then didn't happen. So, now they have seemingly gone a very long time with next to no news at all, and are very slowly beginning to bring it back.
I do not expect to get that original level back, especially with the "New Era" stuff. Oh no. Once burned... (I jest; once!)

He could look in the news forum. Where the news is.
you mean search on the internet or put "Elite dangerous live stream" into google? god no!

The OPer implied that there was new information regarding the pads that was talked about n the recent livestream. I am not sifting through an hour of video for one bit of information. It would be nice if they could just post it

Does anyone remember what happened with 2.3? Up to that point, I found frontier to be reasonably open when talking about future ideas. There was such a huge backlash against that update, some of the vitriol was deserved because some of the bugs were horrendous, that that is when you could say that they pulled back on the communication. Part of it was they were being secretive about 2.4 but since then, there seems to be a policy of We're talking about the next update and that's it. (The exception is the fleet carrier which we've heard about in advance).

It's understandable really, they've seen unreasonable expectation come out from the vaguest statement.

...has improved greatly compared to say a year ago! Kudos to the Elite CM's not only for giving us more detailed information, but also for picking up questions from the forums and streams and providing responses in a timely manner.

Good job! (y)

(Also, please keep it up :) )

Uhm.. uh?

Oh sorry I didn't spot the irony in the OP! 🤭

FDev does a pretty good job of communicating in many instances. They’re much better than other game developers, that’s for sure. Most developers I’ve seen are only interested in Twitch streamers. I think you’ll be hard pressed to find a developer that engages such a wide range of its community.
