Fdev - please remove these stupid lights on the krait.. lol

I actually put my Krait in storage because of those lights.
But then I found the EDHM mod and now I’m back in the Krait cockpit. And it’s even a nice dark red cockpit all the way to the back doors.

I use it myself too ( See sig :D ). Although, sometimes between updates things can temporarily break.. and this post was a result of having to go back to default :)
With EDHM, you can somewhat dim these lights with F3, which is nice, but they are still on. So post is still relevant.
 
The light doesnt bother me as much as the mess of wires and asymmetrical aspect of the viewing area. I wanted to love the Krait mk ll but just couldn't.

The Phantom isnt much better either.
 
Maybe it is Canon.

A: that's a Krait MK.2, great for multi purpose and a very good combat ship
B: and what are these two things?
A: these are lights which will shine straight in your face
B: why?
A: to blind you, so the enemies will have a chance in combat.
 
I spend a lot of time in them both, the MK2 is my main core miner due to the view and hard point positions, the Phantom my main Fleet Carrier 'tow' ship due to decent jump range (even when loaded with goodies) and again the view.
I don't really notice the lights too much anymore but as far as medium ships go i wouldn't trade either for my Crusader.

No need to remove them, we might need them when we drop something and are not close to a star. 😄

But please, please turn them off permanently until we CAN drop something in the cockpit.
 
Heya guys.. i feel your pain but i really think this is a lighting balance issue so hopefully gets caught. Here's some screens from my Krait today and they don't seem as bad as yours. That's not taking away from your problems OP which we can clearly see are a problem!! Just thought it might help to show that different people's PCs might be handing things wildly differently in Odyssey at the moment.

Hope these help in some way.. they're not as blinding as yours at all but I haven't changed any settings, just left it on whatever the game decides at launch. Could explain why so many cmdrs are suffering wildly different problems in the game if each system is displaying things this differently.
 
They were worse at one point a few yers back.

They would produce this awful pyramid glare reflection around neutron/ White Dwarf stars which was eventually corrected. They don't bother me now but it would be nice to have some player control over them and other cockpit lighting.
 
Hi CMDRs,

I've added a mod to the Odyssey version of EDHM to dim those lights in the Phantom and KMII. You can download it from the EDHM Discord (I won't link it here, please see the main EDHM thread) in the #beta-files channel

For those without EDHM, you can reduce the severity of those upper lights by turning down (or off) the 'bloom' in Graphics Options
