The FDS and other fed ships have a unique flight model. In my opinion the flight characteristics are just as important as the hard stats. Fly what you like. The game is a recreational activity after all. Folks should stop obsessing over what is "better". All ships are a waste of time. Just logging in is a waste of time. FDS works decent for mining and combat. Get a C6 bi weave, 2 boosters and engineer however you feel like. Then put full power to shields and start ramming the enemy. Ram them, target thrusters with dumfires and bring the pain. The bigger the enemy, the easier it is to kill. Using plasma and FA off, the dropship orbits enemies in a way the AI has no idea how to counter.
