Felicity Farseer not delivering?

So I have reached grade 5 FSD, or rather, should have. I am trying to give her X1 Arsenic, X1 chemical manipulators, X1 datamined wake exceptions. When the upgrade is finished, it still remains untitled. I select "upgrade" again and it repeats the upgrade. Still no ticks? I do this a third time and it says "insufficient materials" since she's used up my store three times. Obviously I'm doing something wrong here, or there's a bug? How many times do you select "upgrade" before she delivers it?
The initial request is for one each of the requested items, seems like she wants several?
If it's a bug, I found it. If it's not I'm a fool!🥴

Screenshot or something?
I'll try.
I spent several hours gathering the three items, confident I'd go to grade 5. But the repeated requests for the materials resulted in three of each being needed.
I noticed in the previous grades 1 to 4 o had to clock upgrade a few times, but it only used one item each time.
Needless to say I'm very confused now?🙃

It sounds like you upgraded your FSD at level 5 three times. Did the little "clock dials" move round anti clockwise as you made your upgrade? You will see any improvement by checking in Outfitting and looking at your jump range.

There's a planet in Farseer's system that is pretty good for getting Arsenic, if you're out of that.

There's a chance it might be applied and it's just hard to see that - you could also just click your FSD and show the details, it'll say if it's G5 engineered or not, I believe.

Yes, dials did move. It looked like it had completed but the upgrade tab remained available, so I clicked it again. The dials moved each time I clicked, up to 12 o clock, but the upgrade tab still remained active? Then at fourth click I'd run out of materials!
I'll go back and check shortly, thanks, could be I'm too knackered to see straight!

So... my own finding have been:

G0 - G1 - 1-2 upgrades
G1-G2 - 1-2 upgrades
G2-G3 - 2-3 upgrades
G3-G4 - 2-4 upgrades
G4-G4 - 2-4 upgrades
G5 to Maximum - 27 upgrades

Sometimes you need update each grade several times to complete it, normally 5th grade is more difficult, if OP refers to that

Ah, okay, it's not too bad then.

You can continue to upgrade until you've maxed out all the bonuses, which can take quite a few goes around on G5.

Sounds like your FSD is upgraded, but not fully upgraded. There's a little improvement to be made but you've got the G5 bonuses. The dials indicate the bonus you're getting from the upgrade (from a minimum range to a maximum range) goes up a varying amount with each "upgrade" push.

Sounds like the OP just did 3x G5 rolls.

It usually takes about 10 rolls to complete G5, on average.

Also, at the risk of creating more confusion, maybe the OP should pin the "Increased Range" mod' from Auntie Felicity, apply an XFX while at her base and then go about their business and complete the mod' whenever they have the mat's and are at a station?

Yes that's spot on. O just completed the 5 FSD upgrade, but it took five (coincidence?) " Pushes" to get it completed 100%😁
So my next project will be to sail to where my Python is berthed and try to 'swap" the upgraded FSD in my Aspx into the python. I am assuming I can use the "store" facility to swap them over. Although I did see the warning "core modules must be replaced with stock items", whatever that means?
Anyway, even if I can't put the G5 FSD in my Python, at least the Aspx has a great explorer range!😁

If you have one of the FSD range upgrades selected, you can "Pin Blueprint" and access it remotely, so you can apply it to other FSDs from other locations. You can only pin one per engineer. This can save you a potentially long trip back.

Yep.

When you select the AspX FSD and click "store" it'll automatically be replaced by a 5E FSD - the same as the one provided in the stock ship, when you first buy it.

Remember to apply the Experimental Effect to your upgrade, while you are with the engineer. For FSD range, Mass Manager is the best choice, because it gives you an extra (I think roughly) 10% improvement even over the full level 5 boost. When you pin the blueprint in order to boost other FSDs from elsewhere, you can do everything except apply the experimental effect.

Spend a lot more time collecting the required materials. Collect WAY more than you will need to because those same materials will be needed later for other modifications by other Engineers. Suggest you collect the maximum, or nearly the maximum amount of each of the required materials before trying again. This will lower your stress level not only because you will not have to go gathering over and over but also because you will be able to resign yourself to several days or a couple weeks of materials gathering and can relax into the task. o7
